The Academy for Survival was a three-day retreat that put the ideas and methodologies of Borderlander’s Outfitter into practice. The mission of the Academy was to cultivate ways of thinking through the processes of making. Through demonstrations, hands-on material experimentation, and group dialogue, this program explored the ways humans engage with the world and with community, leveraging the kinesthetic knowledge obtained through the processes of craft and design to speculate on potential innovations in socioeconomic and biodynamic systems.
