@glennardo ✊🏾 “Black & Comfortable | Oxymoron No. 2” • I sent a text to the GC and told them I was starting a new collection called, Black & Comfortable. Someone replied and said, “Black people cant be comfortable.” I said, “Exactly”. #supportblackart #glennardo #painting #oxymoron #blackart #inthenow #blacklivesmattee #unapologeticallyblack #livingwhileblack https://www.instagram.com/p/B-0zLS7hynl/?igshid=1ebee3h6gtk5

Boulder, Colorado, police officials have launched an internal affairs investigation.
One morning a police officer in Boulder, Colorado, observed a man picking up trash “in a partially enclosed patio area directly behind a ‘Private Property’ sign,” and “initiated contact with the man to determine if he was allowed to be on the property.” The man told the officer that he lived there, and showed his identification. The officer thanked him for his time, wished him a pleasant day, and continued on his way.
Oh, wait, no. The man was black.
So the (white) officer kept the (black) man’s identification card, pulled out his gun, started shouting orders at him, and called for back-up.
Fortunately for the black man--though not for the police--a neighbor began to record the incident on video:
“The officer, holding a gun in his right hand, refers to the tool [the trash grabber he was using to pick up garbage] as a weapon and orders the man to put it down. The officer radioed for back-up, saying the man was ‘being uncooperative and unwilling to put down a blunt object’ ... Within minutes, other officers arrived on the scene, at least one holding a shotgun.”
The man (whose name has not been released) was understandably upset: “You’re on my property with a gun in your hand, threatening to shoot me because I’m picking up trash.” The police ultimately determined that the man had a legal right to be on the property, returned his identification, and left. Without arresting him for Picking Up Trash While Black.
Or just shooting him dead.
How kind.

I went to the beach today and I wore my bikini with pride.
A manager at a St. Paul Chipotle was fired this week after a video went viral of employees refusing to serve five black men and asking them to prove they could pay before taking their order. Masud Ali, 21, said he and friends were told they couldn’t be served Thursday night at the eatery on Grand Avenue and were accused of being customers from an earlier night who weren’t able to pay for their meal. “It sounded really racist — the way she said it was racist,” Ali said Friday. “She asked for proof of income as if I’m getting a loan.” __________________________________________ In a statement, Chipotle said it conducted a “thorough investigation,” and talked with police officers who were called to the restaurant, as well as employees. “Regarding what happened at the St. Paul restaurant, the manager thought these gentlemen were the same customers from Tuesday night who weren’t able to pay for their meal. Regardless, this is not how we treat our customers and as a result, the manager has been terminated and the restaurant [staff] has been retrained to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again,” the statement said. #LivingWhileBlack #chipotle Via @poppinmedia DrKinu - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/BqVa8_khr8J/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ae1vklc3ad1y
