I think these @onyalife bags are my favorite bought reusable produce bags. They are super light, made of recycled plastic, and can hold heaps. Of course, it's not a great place to stop, so once you've got recycling figured out - start trying to reduce that too. 💚 Here are a few more low effort #zerowaste actions that won't cost you much time or money: 🌱 Composting, if it's available to you. 🌱 Putting things in containers instead of using plastic wrap. 🌱 Voting for the party with the best environmental policies. 🌱 Shampoo / conditioner / soap bars instead of bottles 🌱 Popcorn instead of crisps. 🌱 Freeze anything that you can't eat before it goes bad. 🌱 Introduce more fresh veg and plant based meals into your diet. 🌱 Try to buy local produce. 🌱 Get a toilet paper subscription from @smartasstp or a similar one in your country for plastic free tp that's delivered to you so you never need to remember to buy it again. 🌱 Wash clothes less - only when smelly or visibly dirty 🌱 Sweep hard floors instead of vacuuming to save electricity and vac bags. 🌱 Keep looking after yourself and be kind to yourself. It's a journey, and nobody is perfect. When last did you empty your fridge? 🥕 This is a great tip for reducing #foodwaste because it makes it very clear what you have and what needs using up. Set yourself a challenge to not go food shopping until your fridge is empty so that you are forced to use all the weird bits you might have been ignoring. You'll come up with some creative meals along the way, save some food from going bad, and probably save yourself some money too! I'll also sometimes set myself this kind of challenge with the freezer to make sure that nothing in there gets forgotten until it's taken over by freezer burn and ice crystals. ❄️🍦 This is something I started doing after seeing a video from @trashisfortossers where I saw how empty her fridge gets! Motherhood truly does bring joy. 🥔 potatoes 🍅 Tomatoes, kale, cabbages, chilies 🌶️ Spring onions Another especially pretty kale 🌱 Spinach and beans Huge cabbage We are already picking our herbs and spinach and cabbage outer leaves and pea fronds, and we'll be starting on those spring onions soon too! 😁 It's the BEST feeling when you get to eat something you grew yourself!
