Are there any guidelines for creating Heartless OCs, or is it actually possible? I mean, I have a couple, though I doubt either of them are plausible at all.

Mostly, no. There’s only been one case of a sentient Heartless, and that’s Ansem. I’m pretty sure it’s only because he experimented on his own heart, y’know? And he accepted the darkness before ripping himself apart. And also because he did it to send his heart into the past to influence his younger self. So, Heartless!Ansem has been on Destiny Island for, like, 80+ years before the events in KHI (idk, that number is an assumption judging by how old Xehanort is, but it could be closer to like 60-70. Who knows).

And he only gained a real physical form when possessing Riku

So, no, Heartless characters that still have their mind and a semblance of their human form is a no-go.

With what's currently known about KH lore, do you think that it's possible to turn a KHUX avatar into a full OC, with the idea that they accept becoming a dandelion? (Or at least, will it be possible once KH3 is out, assuming that the game mentions the dandelions at all?)

I do! I think it’s actually like an awesome idea to use your KHUX avatar as an OC. They leave so much room for interpretation because your character doesn’t actually talk. So, you can make them do or say whatever and make their own background and have their own interactions with main characters, because it’s canon. 

The KHUX era is probably the best time to make an OC for because there is just so much more freedom involved. I highly encourage it!
