lmao ok, so you’re familiar with the story of “Heidi,” right? I would say the rest of the cartoon is a normal adaptation but that would be erasing the color-changing psychedelic dancing horse and the love triangle she was involved in with the coal-delivery boy and the housemaid. But anyway! This particular sequence was Heidi having a nightmare inspired by her mountaineer grandfather’s accounts of the folk monsters in the area, and I was obsessed with it as a child, and honestly, it explains so much about my aesthetic ever since.
