CHAIRS AND FRIDGES ARE CHAOS AGENTS SENT FROM HELL. SEND POST.
“Hey. Haven’t seen you in a couple days.”
He finds David sitting on, of all places, the roof of his own house. How convenient. The brunette is far from proficient at flying yet, so he (ungracefully) hauls himself onto the roof with his hands and knees. His jeans are scuffed and his hands are dusty, but he doesn’t really care.
All he cares about is the beautiful man glittering in the moonlight.
He comes up to the side of his side and lays his head against the bleach-blonde’s shoulder. David may not be much of a cuddler, but Michael very much is.
He leans his entire body weight into the vampire, intertwining his fingers with one of David’s hands.
He feels safe here.
“Ironic. Don’t have a working heart and yet I’m still falling in love.”

𝕴t had been true David hadn’t seen Michael in a couple days before the boy flew up there towards him.
The blonde vampire had been sitting on the boy’s roof that night…Not for any particular reason at all. Wasn’t knocking on his door asking to be let inside to talk…Just wanted to see all the stars in the sky, which was where his eyes were before Michael had come crashing down right there in front of him. David couldn’t hide the chuckle he let out, didn’t try to either-already amused by the half-vampire’s ungraceful landing.
“Hey, boy…Trouble flying?” He snarked. “You’re a natural…fast learner, one day you’ll pick it up in no time too, like I did. I can teach you.”
David wasn’t much for a cuddler, at least not with people he knew he couldn’t trust. But, with Michael he’d been more than willing to embrace his fledgling, putting his arm around him and pulling the boy closer to him as their hands intertwined and conjoined. Like even their hands belonged together as one.
“Hmm, looks like you still got a working heart to me.” He could hear what was left of the boy’s heartbeat, a lot quieter and slower than it once was around him-His enhanced senses gave away that it used to beat like a drum…Once he took that last step it would give out completely like David’s had.
It was rare for him, but he felt cozy like this too.
“Falling in love? Oh, Michael you make it sound so…mushy, don’t you?” There was no real bite to his taunt, leaning in so the boy could get more comfortable beside him. “Ah, nothing sweeter than a love like this…” He continued on with his mocking. “Gonna make an immortal man blush and bat his eyes for you…” It had been no secret at all David was falling for Michael too, had been for a long time-wouldn’t be here now if he didn’t…Love the boy in whatever way the undead without much for a heart could. “Nice night to be out and watch the stars, isn’t it?”

The sound of a slow beeping heart monitor floods his ears.
The last few hours all melded together in Michael’s head. His last clear memory takes place in the kitchen. That visual was burned into his brain; his mother, standing firm across from his father, her body stone but her eyes red with horror. His father, his voice booming, his arm raised.
Michael remembers surging forward when he saw the arm move. He doesn’t remember much after that.
His head is buzzing. He sees white, pristine tiling on the floors and walls surrounding him. He can only feel his limbs; his torso feels like it doesn’t exist. The rest of his skin brushes against staticky fabric. It smells like alcohol. Not the kind you drink, but the kind that’s used to clean things.
Oh.
Michael’s in a hospital bed.
He yanks the sheets out from over his shoulders and finds his chest wrapped tightly in padded bandages. There’s small, pale blotches of red across the lower half of it.
He starts panicking then. Why can’t he remember what happened? How did he end up here? The last thing he knew was that his mom—
His mom.
A hand flying her way.
If he touched her, then Michael swear’s he’ll-
The sound of a door creaking open breaks his thought.
A woman steps through and Michael’s short-lived sense of violent terror subsides. His mother is unscathed. Physically, at least. Her expression implies otherwise for her mental state.
For a moment, Michael just stares at her. He can’t seem to put his disbelief or confusion into words quite yet. His brain is moving a mile a minute but he still can’t identify what got them both here. Whatever it was, it seemed Michael got the bulk of it physically.
He opens his mouth to say something.
The only thing that comes out is a pained whimper.
He tries again.
“Mom…” his voice is so broken, so shaky.
“What happened?”
Important public service announcement for the people of Santa Carla.
I love Star.
And you all should too.
Thank you.
Let me ask the public a very important question.
Who on earth could he POSSIBLY be calling that’s more important than the guy sitting RIGHT NEXT TO HIM?
A question for all members of the Lost Boys but also Californians in general: how are you all wearing heavy jackets??? It’s like…eight million degrees? I could barely last in a T-shirt and a jean vest!!
“Hey…David? Marko and I had an idea. What…what do you think?”
He steps out from behind a curve of the cavern wall and emerges.
“I’ve never done makeup before, but I’ve kind of always wanted to. Underneath all the ever-present toxic masculinity that has been injected into my veins by my father. But I trusted Marko, and I think he did a good job.”
He pauses, then goes on.
“You’re the final judgement, though. I wanna know if you like this…exploration? I guess? Not sure what else to call it, haha.”

Should I be concerned at all that I keep hearing this when I’m walking the boardwalk alone?
Is it like some sort of Santa Carla thing? Who’s doing this?? What does it mean?
