How are we defining YA though? From what I can tell, YA is defined as work that is:
accessible and relatable for teens (GOT)
contains a straightforward narrative (also GOT)
has teen characters (damn is this ever GOT)
GOT also meets with the standard 'superstar' YA formula of having a large cast of characters and increasingly long volumes.
The issue is that YA is considered to usually have more likable characters, which is where GOT goes all grimdark by having NO ONE likable, and good characters are punished by suffering and death.
I maintain my stance.

The real thing that would happen if you put more than one Norway in a room is that they'd end up endlessly complimenting themself over how great they are and then never get any work done whatsoever. Conspiring against the other Nordics and/or world is also likely, once they've gotten past that first stage (which is unlikely to ever happen).
