“I’m not in the mood to be accused of more things that I didn’t do” Mira huffed, dropping the hand that she had been using to turn the water in her glass to ice as she let it rest in her lap. She had sensed somebody standing close by before she had heard their breathing and her mind instantly went to Marina. Her sister, unlike their father, had not forgiven Mira for the part that she played in what had happened at Atlantis and Mira was not naïve enough to believe that she would not exact her revenge given the right opportunity. “It’s rude to hover, you know2 she continued, still not turning her head. “So if there’s something you wish to say to me, I’d prefer that you come out with it already”

Rocket had been doing all that he could to fly under the radar after the mess that he had made for himself between Valentina and Daphne, even going as far as to switch up his usual routines in order to avoid certain aforementioned ghosts of his past in his last ditch effort to move on. That was how he had wound up in the last place Rocket had expected to find himself; Study Hall. His textbooks looked practically brand new given that they’d hardly been touched since his first day. It had been a silent protest against the cage they had locked him in but after everything that had happened in the last few months, Rocket would rather study and keep himself out of the spotlight. It was only as he settled down into a seat at the back that it occurred to him that he hadn’t thought to bring a notebook. “Hey-” he whispered, leaning in closer to the person sat beside him. “Do you have a piece of paper I could borrow or something? Got a lot of catching up to do here”

“If you’re going to stand there, can you at least pass me that screwdriver?” Riley asked, blowing at the hair that had fallen from behind her ear, obstructing her view. The remote control to her batarangs had been broken during the last attack on the school and while Riley knew that she should probably call Lucius or Alfred to fix it properly, this would have to do for now. She didn’t want to draw any attention to herself after her Dads had been so worried about her and Cat and she was sure it would do fine until the next time she could go home. It wasn’t often that Riley relied on the arsenal of gadgets that came equipped with her suit, her smoke manipulation usually doing the trick, but she was determined to never let herself be caught so unprepared ever again. Not after all that she had been through here so far. “Please? Sorry...Long day” she apologised, realising how blunt her initial request had sounded.

“They say INSUBORDINATION.” March explained, quite ruefully. “They ask how I feel, ‘like a butterfly’ I say, they call it incorrect. Incorrect? As if my feelings need correction. They’re miles away from anything they could ever know. Like grass in the wind, fern in the sea, and stars in the daylight’s billow.” He shook his head. “All it takes is an open eyes to understand, but they remain content in their boxes.      “Alright...” Emeli sighed, fingers running through the roots of her copper hair as she pushed her long locks away from her face. “Say it one more time, and slowly this time, you lost me somewhere back there” she admitted with a weak shrug. It wasn’t that her attention span wasn’t very long, per se, but more so that Emeli was always thinking and therefore it took something that peaked her interest to truly grab and hold her attention sometimes. Especially on days like today, when she’d slept terribly and most of her focus was on keeping her eyes open. “I’m listening, though” she assured the other, aware that she could come across rather blunt without meaning to at times.
