On the commenting on WIPs that haven't been updated in a while: I've been known to say something to the effect of "I hope you come back to this someday" at the end of a comment. I feel like that's a politer way than "please update" to let the writer know that if they did continue the fic, they'd have at least one reader who's interested. It's a comment I'd be happy to get on one of my abandoned works, but I'm curious what other people think.
I’m still compiling my list of ways to ask for updates, but I personally like this one. It gives me the warm and fuzzies :)
What do other people think?

I'm laughing so hard that they are both named James. I love it. (And married to Seb! these are just great in general)
haha thanks i just ran with idea from the books where where the professor james moriarty’s brother was colonel james moriarty and i was just like “their parents being dicks and naming them both james” is my headcanon. and married to seb was an obvious for me! they met during their time in the army and when jay introduced seb to jim, jim was, of course as you know jim, suspicious as can be but soon learned sebby fit right into the family
also seb takes the piss outta both of for the james/james situation!
THANK YOU for doing the kudos poll! It has been much appreciated. I do want to add that anyone who's been misinterpreting what readers mean by mashing the kudos button needn't feel embarrassed about that. Thinking kudos don't mean much is a reasonable interpretation. Having the data otherwise will, I hope, help all of us appreciate those kudos numbers a bit more, no matter what we felt about them before. I'm really interested in any future polls you have planned, as well.
You’re so welcome! And I was so amazed and interested in the results (and results are still coming in and are as amazing and interesting as they were from the start).
I know I was definitely misinterpreting kudos, so I’m very glad indeed to have hard numbers from across various fandoms to look to the next time my brain tries to make me think that kudos aren’t that important because [insert silly reason here]

In case I don’t get a chapter out today due to...
omg, that maternity shirt! I bet every time Sherlock sees her in it he falls in love with her all over again.
oh, he definitely does! I found it on an ad when I was doing research for my fic lol!

this chapter is already crazy romantic at 3...
And this is a problem why? ^.~
haha I never said it was a problem ;p
