This was a pretty epic moment when I first got my #CanonPowerShot. I went out to the LLELA Nature Preserve thinking there was no way I'd find the bald eagle people had spotted. When I saw him/her, I gasped aloud. My first sighting, and I managed to snag a picture. Bliss. Absolute bliss.

lookit it’s darling little tracks in the sand!

This sweet little darling is a broad banded water snake. This one is a baby and they are non-venomous. The little teeth don’t hurt at all (at least on one this size). My professor’s assistant caught this little jewel straddling a creek and he just reached in and pulled it out like it was nothing. Best thing I saw all day and I’m a little in love with this tiny snake.
