All Our Yesterdays: Day 108
08.11.19: The Mail Online carried this story:
“Boris Johnson has told Northern Island businesses they can put customs declaration forms “in the bin" because there will be "no barriers of any kind” to trade crossing the Irish sea.”
Unfortunately, like so much of what Johnson promises, this was yet another deceit. Far from being free of “barriers of any kind” the Withdrawal Agreement Johnson signed with Brussels leaves control of certain goods firmly in the hands of the EU.
09.09.19: The New Statesman:
“...under the terms of the Brexit deal that, don’t forget, Boris Johnson himself personally renegotiated, signed, campaigned on and brought into law … that are exported from the UK mainland to Northern Ireland will be subject to EU oversight.”
