"Is it really a good idea to be driving a classic Chevy in a foot of snow?" Lilli asked as she threw her duffel bag into the backseat.
"Relax, Princess." Cookie said dryly as he opened the passenger door for her "She'll run and Vince is probably halfway up to the cabin by now."
Lilli settled into the faux leather seat and shivered. Even with her parka the car was still managing to be colder than outside. "It still has heat, right?"
Cookie 'ah'ed like he had simply forgotten his keys and turned the knob on the dashboard. The blast of cold air caused Lilli to jump. He laughed. "Sorry" and gave the top airvent an unceremonious slap. It finally kicked over to something resembling heat after they started down the road.
Vince had been planning this huge Christgmas get-together at a cabin he had rented. The whole family was expected to be there; everyone from Vince and Dahlia to close friends like Cookie and Adam. It was destined to be one hell of a party. Unfortunately, this cain was located halfway up a mountain halfway to the next state, and it was starting to snow pretty badly.
"Cookie are you SURE..." Lilli bit her lip, watching the wipers struggle to keep up with the snowfall along with the speed of the car.
"Lil I'm absolutely positive that we will make it there. She'll run in the snow. Trust me."
He was right for the most part. They spent the majority of the trip passing a joint back and forth while shooting the shit and listening to whatever happened to be in the cassette player.
"Don't you have anything other than classic rock?"
Cookie gave her an incredulous side-eye. "Lillium Elizabeth you take that back this second young lady."
She laughed. "Alright, sorry. Just asking." She looked out the window. It was still snowing pretty badly, but atleast they were off the highway now. The backroad wasn't as maintained as the main roads but as promised the Chevy puttered on. She was beginning to nod off when Cookie's hand slammed into her sternum. She was seconds away from yelling when she noticed that they weren't on the road anymore. The world spun slowly and what should have traspired in a few seconds felt like hours. She heard the screeching of the breaks, the underbrush catching underneath the car. They weren't facing the right way anymore. They finally came to rest just inches from a tiny stream.
"Fuck, are you okay!?" Cookie sounded frantic, unbuckling himself to get a better look at her. "Shit I'm so sorry Lil, are you ok? Anything broken? Geezus I should have known better.."
"Yeah I'm fine...are you ok?" She unbuckled, pulling a leg up underneath her. "What happened? Where are we?"
"We hit a patch of ice and spun out. The road isn't too far but it's a pretty steep incline. I don't know if we can make it back up there with all of this snow."
"I don't think I want to try right now. The sun is starting to go down and if we get ourselves even more stuck I don't think it will end prettily. I'll just get ahold of Vince and he can come get us or atleast send us help." She dug through her bag in the floorboard for her phone. "Oh."
"What?" Cookie asked.
"It's dead." She confessed sheepishly.
"Perfect. Mine has no bars."
"Awesome." She said, climbing into the backseat and opening her duffelbag.
"What are you doing back there?"
"I brought a blanket and a pillow because I hate the itchy ones the cabin always has. Its going to get colder soon...the sun is going down."
Cookie nodded, impressed. "I think I have a blanket in the trunk, hold on."
He returned with a blanket and a flashlight.
"You're so prepared Cookie, look at you." Lilli smiled, scooting over for him. He sat beside her, making sure she was comfy before adjusting himself. They had a very small dinner with what little snacks Cookie had stashed in his cooler, along with the bottles of beer he had decided to bring. THe sun had long set before they finally decided to get some sleep. Cookie leaned back in the seat, his feet propped up against the center console. Lilli layed her head in his lap. They were quiet for a long time, watching the snow gather on the windshield. Cookie was the first to speak.
"...Lil..." his voice was quiet, not much above a whisper.
"Hm?" She rolled over to look up at him.
"Sit up."
She sat up, curious. "What is it?"
Cookie fidgeted with his words before finally settling them into the right order. "I know we're gonna make it out of this, and I'm honestly a little freaked out right now..."
Lilli smiled sympathetically, brushing the back of her hand over his cheek. "Cook you don't have to act tough, if you're scared be scared. I'm a little shaken up too."
"No, that's not it....I mean it is but....it isn't...and we're gonna miss Christmas and....its all ruined."
"Christmas isn't ruined. We have eachother, right?"
He nodded.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"It's either the weed, or the booze...I think...but I have this urge to just..." He slid his hand to the nape of her neck and pulled her close, kissing her deeply.
She was caught off guard, but found herself running her fingers through his hair. They stayed enveloped for what could have easily been hours. She was straddling his lap, his warm hands holding her at the small of her back.
"Cook..." She murmured into his neck.
"Mm?"
She nipped gently at him, her hands meandering from his chest to go work at the button of his jeans.
"...You're sure?" He asked, lifting her chin with his finger.
"I've never been more sure of anything else." She was red.
They kissed again, gently undressing eachotehr as they went.
Cookie adjusted himself in the seat, letting her straddle him, and pulled a blanket back over them. He watched as she lowered herself onto him, biting her lip to keep relatively quiet. He was in ecstasy, between the sensation of being in her to the visual of her in a world of pleasure, he wasn't going to last long if she was left in control like this. He stopped her, pulling her close before laying her down onto the seat. "Mmf..Cook..." She moaned as he re-entered her, and that's all he needed to get going again. She left scratches down his spine, and bit marks across his shoulders. He looked like he had been mauled by a bear. A very cute bear who was now laying naked with him in the back of his car, under three layers of blankets. He pet her hair, kissed the top of her head.
"Lilli."
She looked up at him with tired eyes.
"I think I’m in love with you."
She turned red and nodded. "I...love you too."
