Found my last year sketches of characters from long live the pumpkin queen book. Tbh, I imagined Ruby as very tall and skinny woman but decided to give her some softness. But tiny wings are what I’m going to fight for. I wanted her to share cupid’s kind so she was more associated with St Valentine’s town. This s is not supposed to be a final view, i’d play with it some more. Sandman’ s easy task of course.

Do you guys think there’s a sex shop in Valentine’s Day Town?

Ruby Valentino handing Jack a strap-on: “Here. You might need this for Sally.”

Jack, completely dumbfounded: “Why on earth would I need this?”

Ruby: “Well, you’re a skeleton, right? You don’t have a…” *Gestures to the lower half of his body.*

Jack: “I literally eat, drink, sleep, walk, and can do just about everything a normal skeleton can’t do. Why are you doubting my abilities?”

The way LLPQ graphic novel gets gradually worse visually the further you observe the art on panels… is something. First pages weren’t appealing to me but the rest feels like comic artist (if not multiple) got so bored and tired they did as they did. I mean great that this is human work, human art, human literature (I hope), but the novel disappoints indeed.

Finished reading “Long live the Pumpking Queen” (S. E). My first and last spoiler alert on this book.

I’d prefer to not consider this as canon. I prefer Sally’s origin to stay purely Halloween. I think I’ll treat it like old TNBC pc games where Jack had a slime on his hand as a weapon, lol. The book is indeed cool, interesting plot, feels like tale. I even visualised most of it in TNBC movie style, bc it ~80% felt so. And I like how at the start Sally doesn’t realise her status allows her to actually rule and give orders, not just follow made up obligations. But that’s understandable, considering how invisible she was, being a servant herself all this time. What I find a little weird is that despite Sally’s actions, emotions, feelings and thoughts being described in details, some other characters’s lines felt flat. For example, my imagination added more lines into J+S dialogue after Jack has finally woken up. I tried to make myself believe that what is written might be cinematically great. But still I needed more emotional juice there. Also I wonder what’s Jewel’s fate. I have headcanons on her and I don’t want her to disappear from everyone’s life.

Still it was nice to read it. The concept of holidays is awesome.
