It had been an unexpected find, a video dug up completely by accident as he lay in bed unable to sleep. But in his random search for more information on the most recent object of his interest, he found something that jolted him out of his bed, his undivided attention turned towards the cellphone in his hands. “What the fuck...” The moment Kai spoke of as prompted by the interviewer was unbearably-- no, unbelievably familiar to the mechanic. Because it was something he could never forget, it was a moment in his very own life; a moment that few could ever replicate, let alone fabricate.
Bookmarking the video, he slapped some clothes on, slid his phone into his pocket, and snagged his keys and wallet from the counter on his way out. There was no way he could watch that, on top of his other sneaking suspicions about Kai and his book, and pretend that something very strange wasn’t going on.
Bounding up to his front door, an out of breath and unsure of what he even planned to do or say, but at that moment he needed answers. Badly. Banging on the door a little harder than necessary.
