In reality, Margaret never felt a need to 'mark her territory'. That was a male animal thing anyway, and even then, she's pretty sure no one in her clan resorted to that. If there was any marking, it was probably clawing up tree trunks or rubbing against surfaces with their body because they have an itch they can't reach.
