INTERVIEW WITH LYSS MARIE ENTERTAINMENT (LME) OWNER/FOUNDER LYSS MARIE
Angel:How did LME start?
Lyss Marie:LME originally started back in 2011 under the name Wicked Bands. At the time, my goal was simple: help local and unsigned bands get their music in front of more people. For years, my primary focus remained on supporting bands and musicians. In October 2019, I rebranded to Lyss Marie Entertainment and at the beginning of 2026, I began expanding beyond bands to include photographers, promoters, managers, content creators, venues, and other behind-the-scenes creatives who help make the music industry what it is.Today, LME is dedicated to giving the entire underground creative community a voice while staying true to the mission that started it all—supporting artists and helping them be seen, heard, and appreciated.
Angel:When did you get involved in the Underground?
Lyss Marie:My involvement in the underground scene started long before Wicked Bands. During my high school years, I spent a lot of time attending local shows and supporting local bands. I quickly fell in love with the passion, talent, and sense of community that existed within the underground music scene. What started as being a fan eventually grew into a passion for helping others gain recognition. That passion led me to create Wicked Bands in 2011, and from there it evolved into what is now Lyss Marie Entertainment. The underground has always been about community, creativity, and giving people a chance to be heard, and that's something I've carried with me ever since.
Angel:What services do you offer?
Lyss Marie:LME offers written music reviews, written artist interviews, magazine features, website listings through the Browse the Underground section of the website, promotional opportunities, artist spotlights, and photography services through Lyss Marie Photography.I also offer professional photo editing services and website-building assistance. While I don't do coding, I can build websites using website platforms and have a knack for teaching myself new systems quickly. These services are offered professionally and are not free services. One of the newest additions to the website is the LME Creatives section. This area was created to highlight photographers, videographers, graphic designers, promoters, managers, content creators, media outlets, and other behind-the-scenes creatives who help make the music and entertainment industry thrive. When I revamped the website, I realized that instead of competing with one another, we could do more by bringing everyone together. There is enough room for all of us to succeed, and every creative deserves recognition for the work they do. The LME Creatives section is my way of helping shine a spotlight on the people who often work behind the scenes while encouraging collaboration and support throughout the community.Everything I do through LME is centered around helping artists and creatives gain visibility, share their stories, and connect with new audiences.
Angel:What is the ultimate vision for LME?
Lyss Marie:The ultimate vision is to continue growing LME into a recognized platform that helps shine a spotlight on independent artists and creatives. I want to create opportunities, build connections, and help people discover incredible talent they may never have found otherwise.Long-term, I'd love to see LME continue expanding its reach and resources while staying true to its roots of supporting the underground. One of my biggest dreams is to eventually own a venue dedicated to underground artists—a place where musicians, creatives, and fans can come together and thrive.I want LME to be known as a platform that genuinely cares about the people behind the art, not just the finished product.
Angel:What platforms is LME on?
Lyss Marie:You can find Lyss Marie Entertainment on:

LME Magazine is available digitally through my Payhip store and in print through my Lulu bookstore using print-on-demand services.I also have an older Wicked Bands YouTube channel that contains archived content from the early days of my journey. Back then, I experimented with creating amateur lyric videos using the limited resources and knowledge I had available at the time. Looking back, it was all part of the learning process and helped me develop skills that I still use today.I've occasionally considered bringing lyric video creation back as a professional service in the future. It's something that interests me, but with everything currently on my plate, that idea is still up in the air for now.
Angel:What is the best way to contact LME?
Lyss Marie:The best way to contact LME is through the contact form on my website. You can also reach out through Facebook or Instagram messages.
Angel:What is happening in the second half of 2026 for LME?
Lyss Marie:The second half of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most exciting periods for LME.Issue 4 of LME Magazine is dedicated to drummers and bass players, giving recognition to musicians who are often overlooked despite being the backbone of many bands. Issue 5 is planned to spotlight hip-hop artists and continue expanding the genres and communities represented by LME.Beyond the magazine, I'll be continuing to grow the website, expand the Browse the Underground and LME Creatives sections, create more interviews and reviews, develop new partnerships, and find even more ways to help artists and creatives gain exposure. As always, my focus remains on helping talented people tell their stories and reach new audiences.
Angel:Is there anything you would like to add about LME?
Lyss Marie:My motto is simple:"Every band, every artist deserves to be heard, seen, and appreciated."Just because something may not be my personal style doesn't mean it won't connect with someone else. That's why I don't turn artists away simply because they're outside of my normal listening preferences.LME isn't about gatekeeping music or creativity—it's about celebrating it. Whether you're playing your first show, releasing your first song, publishing your first photograph, designing artwork, managing artists, promoting events, creating content, or pursuing your creative passion in any form, everyone deserves an opportunity to share their story.I truly believe there is room for all of us. Rather than competing against one another, I'd rather help bring creatives together, support one another, and build a stronger community where everyone has a chance to shine.
Angel:How would you describe LME as coffee?
Lyss Marie:LME would be a cup of black coffee with a few shots of espresso mixed in—strong, bold, and fueled by passion. It's the kind of coffee that keeps you going through long nights spent building websites, editing photos, putting together magazine issues, writing reviews, conducting interviews, and supporting artists and creatives from all over the world.Just like the underground scene, it's not about being flashy or mainstream. It's about authenticity, dedication, and the people who keep showing up because they genuinely love what they do.
And if I can add one thing—remember that I'm the only person running Lyss Marie Entertainment. There isn't a team behind the scenes; it's just me. On top of that, I'm also a stay-at-home mom and wife. My family will always be my number one priority. So if a project takes a little longer than expected or I don't respond immediately, it's never because I've forgotten about someone. It simply means I'm balancing family life alongside everything that comes with running LME. The coffee may be strong, but even coffee needs a refill every now and then. That balance between family, passion, and supporting the underground is what truly defines Lyss Marie Entertainment. ☕🤘❤️
