Floriography is one of my first AU's - seeking to answer the question "who would they be, if they weren't the warrior of light?"
the answer was just "become a cryptid npc who shows up at unexpected times in unexpected places with unexpected things" for a while, until minasha got involved. then it blossomed into a cute little background-turned-foreground love story.
and then, naturally, i decided this AU takes place in the doomed timeline.
their story starts innocently, romantically - they finally get a good life with someone they love where they can still scratch that itch to make a difference in the world but they're not some great grand hero buried under the weight of expectations. mina briefly joins the heretics; el'ah gets punched in the face; 'sae runs supplies between rebel camps in gyr abania; minasha invents a new medical technique (aether cauterization)... then black rose happens, the warrior of light disappears, the scions die, and to top it all off:
No One enters the chat. one of their reflections - one of azem's shards. without typical Warrior of Light Nira'sae ™, no one is undeniably the strongest of atlas' shards. and no one has a peculiar echo; a single commanding voice in it's head that tells it who needs to die, no matter the cost. who knows why it follows this voice, but it does - and the voice leads it to nira'sae. it finds a way to cross between shards, and amidst the chaos there, finds them. it'll cut down anything getting in it's way to kill them.
and that's what minasha tries to do. he tries to save them. protect them no matter the cost. he tries to do one good thing for them, for once in his life. he'd give up everything to do it.
but they won't let him. in the end, they're of the same mind - they can't stand to live without him any more than he can without them, and he's already given so much for them already. he's spent so long protecting them.
