The only other time Subaru employed it I can remember is against Elsa infront of Reinhard in LN 1 but Reinhard didn’t make it clear via his face or verbiage whether or not he understood what the gesture meant.

Beyond those funni bits, the serious undertones of Reinhard pulling a Jesus Christ by sauntering across water + being called a “hero” in a fashion that is italicized is just-

-where Tappei plants the idea that Crusch, Anastasia and Russell may become Subaru’s enemies if the phone lie was discovered.

Having this last line for Anastasia here further foreshadows the idea she & Subaru may be enemies. Russell and Subaru are already primed to be enemies too w/ what Russell may know of him, so this foreshadowing ain’t no coincidence.

I wonder what sign Tappei will plant of Crusch being a potential enemy… she already does emit Antagonist Energy at times with her behavior to the point I made a featured tag about it.

WHOAAAA WHOAAA! Those are some cuts from the Anime.

Sirius’s whole calling of Petelgeuse her husband and the way she justified it made it seem like a one sided thing in the Anime. But here Sirius claims to have slept in the same bed as Petelgeuse. Which like…

Grain of salt absolutely be taken to what Sirius says but she seemed to have been honest about the actions themselves Petelgeuse did for her even as she was deluded about how the meaning of his breathing in the same air was significant.

Next Sirius claims Petelgeuse lavished praise for her “burning half devils away” and erm. I guess I could see Petelgeuse doing that if he viewed them as warped imposters of Satella? But this is a bit of a dubious claim given Sirius is the source.

If what she says is indeed true however WHAT half devils has this women been crisping up??? Elves are an extremely rare species nowadays. Could this be taken to imply some pockets of other elven communities still existed even fairly recently and not just 100 years ago as the most recent time?

Aight. Next is Sirius claiming Petelgeuse gave her her name. That obviously is in reference to their shared last name but I think this is also taken as the 1st name also coming from Petelgeuse.

Sirius is apart of Canis Major, yadda yadda we know that. But also y’know here.

Basically you could interpret it that Sirius is Orion’s dog and Petelgeuse is connected to Orion so is Tappei suggesting Sirius is Petelgeuse's dog? Dogs in this series have constantly been tied to utterly loyal devoted individuals to another so it would fit.

Buuuut. Something else also came up when I looked into Sirius’s Star stuff.

Also. I look into this Great Bear stuff and it’s connected to Ursa Major where the name of Ursa Major in Latin is deadass Greater Bear. I peered into the mythos connected to Ursa Major and only this bit interested me.

Subaru spoke rather prominently of The North Star (aka Polaris) in Alcoholic Panic. Having that get dropped here when this whole Pleiades stuff is connected is flipping weird. Especially with this high emphasis here on a funeral procession and Subaru’s obvious ties to death.

Anywaaays. Moving back over to break down what is being said in that Theosophy image in Re:Zero approximate equivalents it seems as if the following is occurring.

Pleiades (aka Subaru) starts with 7 Sins -> Sins are transferred to Ursa Major (maybe connecting to the OG witches and how they get their sins given there is an interpretation in the myth there of daughters at the funeral?) -> Transfer to Sirius (her getting the Wrath Factor).

Then it’s: Sent to the Sun (no idea what else that in the Theosophy image could mean BUT Priscilla) -> Sent to the God of Earth (clearly Od Lagna) -> goes through the “Masters of the Seven Rays” to arrive at humanity.

This prompted me to research these 7 Rays with regards to this Theosophy thing.

Sooooooo. Yeah. That uh. That’s weird as heck. It’s basically saying in our Re:Zero equivalent here that the 7 Authorities helped morph humanity itself after they was sent to “God of Earth” Od Lagna and that the universes that these 7 Rays helped compose had “Divine Qualities” which likeeee. Hello???

Divine Protections right there! Magic that seems absurd to a normal world?? Seems to fit Divine Qualities to me.

I additionally did look more into Theosophy itself and uh… ahahah. Well. I won’t show the sigil because it’s THAT sensitive enough it might get my post flagged by AI lmao. You can look up what I mean to understand.

For all Sirius is one crazy bitch, it’s honestly fairly logical of her to assume Subaru is a body Petelgeuse is possessing. That slight smidgeon of critical thinking to her insanity makes her quite dangerous.

Alsoooo. Sirius saying she killed all of Petelgeuse’s “spares” is noteworthy. Wdym by that Sirius? I was fairly certain Petelgeuse had all of his Fingers alongside him in his group when going to go do the Ordeal mission.

This makes me have 2 thoughts. One is Sirius is delulu here and thus saying incorrect things. The other is Petelgeuse genuinely had some extra Fingers parked somewhere outside of his vicinity and he couldn’t possess them due to distance.

Of course in the midst of tragedy though Subaru is describing Reinhard’s face to be “beautiful” despite it being marred with despair. Guy checked out Julius when he was possessed now he checks out Reinhard when sliced in half.
