Y’know. Regulus does deserve to die obviously. But the manner of his death is slightly a bit concerning to me? Drowning is painful way to go yeah, but that’s not exactly what I’m fussing about.
What I’m fixated on is that last line here. We have had Tappei clearly parallel Subaru to Regulus. What are the odds Subaru WON’T be stuck in a scenario like Regulus is at the end here where he loops then just dies, paralleling how Regulus activates his Authority (wielding his influence on time just like Subaru does) before instantly being shuttled back into death?
This coupled with stuff I’ve noticed over the last 3 Arcs of commentary from me is making me more and more concerned wth Tappei is gonna cook up to make Subaru trapped in short loop. This fucker is 100% scattering hints about everywhereeee he is gonna do that.
But the issue for me lies in figuring out the mechanism to induce such a loop. Just what the hell is Tappei going to do…? He is already brutal enough with Regulus here. Maybe drowning since Subaru didn’t do that this Arc + paralleling Regulus here? Gosh. Poor Subaru. Even with my vague blurry stabs in the dark of his future it seems awful.
Uh-huhhhh… Regulus says he felt “blessed” when the Gospel told him an empty bridal seat would be filled in this City? Goodness, what an utter red flag that is.
I suspect whomever is behind the Gospel (Observer VS Pandora coin flip to determine that question I feel. Arguably Echdina thrown in too if you can disregard how the Gospel has caused her LN 10 schedule for Subaru to get all fucked up) basically did want Regulus to die. And if thats true, I presume the force wanted Subaru to gain the Greed WF?
That is incredibly eerie to see all these manipulative strings. Petelgeuse was also basically led to his death due to the Gospel to and ended up dyin’ to Subaru and conveniently transferring over the WF to him.
I’ve guessed in the past Flugel created the Cult to keep all the factors separate so it’s pretty ironic this book (that’s a hallmark of the organization he most likely founded/assisted in founding) is potentially having signs of it being used to slowly re-unite the factors.
I guess tho that my beliefs of the Gospel not existing prior to a century ago however would make it make sense since Flugel def I don’t think would be wanting this book undermining his plans to keep the factors all separated.
Pandora is more inclined then the Observers to want all this factor reunification shenanigans I’d think (plus the Sylphy little king stuff earlier I discussed this LN implying she might want Subaru to get the WF’s) so the heck does she want what is probably a Sage Candidate for if she’s getting all these factors bunched up into one person.
Wait. Holdup. Urgh. I feel like a dumbass. Why hadn’t I thought of this before…? Silly me, welp. Okay. So what I just thought about is wondering wth Satella’s shoddy ass seal is sealed with.
Is WF’s/Authorities required to help open the thing in some capacity (since I assume Flugel did some of the sealing work and I don’t think a 100% magic based seal would’ve been effective on an Authority user like Satella simply true to how Authorities overpower magic inherently) and that’s what Pandora is getting at since she appears to seek the worlds destruction the Elior Forest Seal showed us?
Hmmmmmmmm. Another thing. But. Do u need all factors then as one of the conditions to open Satella’s seal? Since obviously if you have all factors your then a fully fledged Sage I’d assume and Flugel prob would’ve wanted to tie the seal to a ludicrously difficult objective that basically is impossible for most people simply due to being unable to house multiple WF’s and then making it extra hard via the Cult scattering the factors everywhere.
Flugel seemed to have some foreknowledge of Subaru due to planting the convenient Great Tree even if one assumes Flugel isn’t some version of Subaru he still has some definitive foreknowledge about this boy in a fashion that’s uncannily similar to Echidna’s seeming foreknowledge of Subaru and some schedule he was on.
Wait. Wait. MMMMm. I’d pegged Echidna’s Tome of Wisdom (and hints of a clear past with Subaru) to be behind her odd LN 10 schedule comment but since I’ve established she likely knew Flugel… was Flugel in actuality behind this schedule and Echidna just accidentally let the beans slip on there being a schedule Subaru ought to have been on?
Okay. What in the world? Anytime I touch this Flugel dude I feel an impending aneurysm. Just- yeaaaah. Gonna shelve these thoughts for now til I get more info on him my god.
Ahem. Mind back onto Pandora and seriously she is also a weird piece in this if she is indeed behind the Gospel since it seems to be maybe helping out Flugel’s goals if somehow Flugel isn’t meddling his hand in the Gospel for some fucking reason and is actually behind the things orders. He might still be alive I’ve said in the past too. I wouldn’t put anything past Tappei…
Jesus fucking christ Regulus. He has reached supreme yapping and victim mentality. This lack of spacing is wild. He really pulling an Arc 4 Echidna fr.
Gods though, he is UTTERLY pathetic. And I didn’t think I could believe that further but his backstory makes it even more true. Smh this guy. Nestled within his backstory however is something that did catch my interest.
Regulus claims he destroyed his hometown. Not shocking. The portion where he claims he destroyed the entire country he was born in is rather intriguing.
That late study night Ram SS made it clear other minor countries exist in the world beyond the Great 4, so either Regulus is originating from one of those minor nations.
Orrrrr… this implies Regulus existed pre-Calamity mayhaps and destroyed a nation that nowadays would’ve been lost to history as a thing that he did.
Regulus generally is captured into historical record regarding his feats of mass destruction Garkla has showcased so one would think atleast a nation suddenly going bye bye would be noted by others outside of said nation even if everybody in said country perished.
But if the Calamity happened, no duh nobody would count it as something separate from the Calamity and then the descendants of those whom survived the Calamity would just think whatever country was wrecked at the time was due to the Calamity since historical records would be shot to hell.
Also. I’m thinking back to my LN 14 thread here-
💬 0 🔁 0 ❤️ 2 · OOOOOOOOOOH! I get confirmation Regulus did have one of the boxes before! It was heavily implied with what I was piecing to
-where I speculated Flugel was behind giving Regulus the Greed WF and frankly nothing in this backstory for Regulus seems to be debunking that potential idea. To the contrary the signs Regulus may have existed pre-Calamity I discerned here make this idea gain more traction imo.
Pfffft. Reinhard so ridiculous about coming back from the moon. Such a silly boy. Regulus for once having a reasonable reaction.
Outside of that nice stuff though sighhhhh Reinhard, Reinhard. Boy noticeably regressed to introduce himself as being of the Sword Saint lineage primarily then his Royal Guard status before finally saying he’s Felt’s knight.
Earlier this LN when questioned what he was by Regulus this guy merely retorted he was Felt’s knight. It sure says something that Reinhard is placed back into this constricting box once he returns from the moon.
It’s a rather subtle way of showcasing now trapped he is by the Observers frankly. Appreciate it a bunch. It’s always the small details in language you’ve gotta watch out for regarding Reinhard.
Anywaaaaays. Reinhard really went smacking Regulus’s crotch to send him flying lmao. He did NOT need to do that but chose to nonetheless. Seems Reinhard is still irked over how Regulus disparaged Subaru earlier in the fight.
Oh. One final thing too. Reinhard being all chill and composed is making me look at him in a deadpan way cause we know from Q&A’s this sus baka was shocked at what he saw whilst being in space.
But if you didn’t have that Q&A info, Reinhard looks perfectly relaxed here as if nothing big happened. Just showcases how good Reinhard is at hiding stuff.
I can’t keep a straight face at this guy saying he can’t muster any “goodwill” to Petelgeuse when I’m pointedly remembering Subaru empathizing with Petelgeuse being crazy when he felt Petelgeuse possess him, or Subaru feeling sorry for Petelgeuse when he thought he’d killed him.
Liliana just wanting to brag about her friends is a nice thing to do in her own way via singing tales of them.
I wonder if maybe whomever originally recorded the tales of the OG heroes was also like Liliana here in wanting to sing of their amazing group of friends.
Watch Flügel was the one whom was musically inclined. I’d not be shocked since Subaru is also musically inclined and Flugel & Subaru are paralleling to a frankly silly degree by Tappei.
Emilia being unable to imagine Garfiel or Otto as “being evil” or “bad people” is making me direct a deadpan look at my screen rn.
Tappei really expects me to take that seriously when Otto is running around tripping future Antagonist flags & then Garfiel’s future trial line is literally all about killing Subaru as promised?
Naaaaah naaah. This is all oozing foreshadowing vibes to me.
