Lily's nightmare

Story beyond this point

Rolling over onto her stomach, Lily saw a herd of simmentals cows grazing. There was a water trough in the middle of the field and several bales of hay. She unfortunately was laying on cow droppings. Disgusted, Lily pushed her hands into the ground to prop herself onto her knees. The same sharp pain shot through her body. She finally managed to get onto her feet as shaky as she was and started walking toward the water trough. This was not her memory but her boyfriends, he had worked on a farm during summers. Mulling over her situation, she spotted her boyfriend! This was a memory from last summer!

Ignoring her pain, she rushed as fast as she could toward him, screaming, “AJ! AJ!” He didn’t turn around, only kept filling the water trough. When she finally got to him, she touched his shoulder and said, “I don’t know what’s going on. I keep going in and out of memories. I’ve been seeing your memories. I think something is wrong. I saw the cracked windshield and heard screeching tires. Please tell me what’s going on.”

AJ ignored her and kept on filling the water trough. Lily was so upset and fell to the ground sobbing. She heard footsteps approaching and just thought it was the memory playing out, but she heard the voice of her boyfriend saying, “Lily? Is that really you?” she looked up to see her boyfriend except this was a current version of her boyfriend. Elated, she jumped up and hugged him. “Lily! I’m so glad to see you. Something is happening, I've been jumping through memories, I've been seeing you and me. I don't know what to do.” AJ just looked at her and started crying, “oh Lily, your leg.”

Lily looked down wincing at her bleeding leg. She saw that AJ was bleeding from a huge laceration on his head. Whispering Lily asked, “What happened? What happened before this?” AJ just shook his head in despair. “What were we doing before? What happened before we started seeing memories?” She looked at his laceration, “I think we were in a car accident. At the lake I heard screeching tires and saw a cracked windshield. I have an injured leg. And there’s the monster.”

“The monster! It’s come after me three times now! Those red eyes!” AJ yelled, almost running out of breath. “I don't know what happened, but I think we are in the veil of some sort.” Lily nodded her head in agreement. “We are only seeing our own memories and each others’. I woke up with a cut on my head and it keeps getting bigger, I think that's the same as your leg.” 

“Whatever is happening, now we are together. We can’t leave each other. We just need to keep finding out what is happening. Maybe another memory will help.” AJ said to Lily. Suddenly, a shriek was heard and the monster with the red eyes was running toward them. They took off running as fast as they could…

No wonder Maomao is committed to making sure Jinshi has enough sleep. The first time he's up all night he tried to kiss her and the second time he proposed to her
