SO BASICALLY Rantaro, Kaede, and Shuichi start off at the protags (kinda like six and mono in ln2). I'm thinking they get caught in a monokuma themed cage bc itd be funny. Anyways, sometime after that while the trio is escaping and doing puzzles, rantaro fucking dies and kaede and shuichi are traumatized. Say this were to be a game, Kaede is the player character from the beginning, BUT if the player dies at all, it transfers to shuichi. If she isn't dead by the time they get to Korekiyo's 'area,' she gets killed there (sorry Kaede enjoyers)Also fun fact Kaede wears a blue coat and when she dies shuichi gets it <33
Himiko, K1-B0, Kirumi, Tenko, Ryoma, Kaito, Angie and Kiyo are all next. I dont have too many ideas but Kirumi is blind and starts crashing out if Kaede (or Shuichi) messes with anything, Tenko leaves Kaede alone (mostly), Himiko sleeps but if whoever the protag is makes too much noise they get crushed by something (maaggiccc), and Kiyo is upside down, also idea is that he still has a sister in this universe that died but they actually have a regular sibling relationship. He makes dolls out of the people he captures because they were young when she died and she liked dolls.
Gonta, Miu, Maki, Kokichi, and Tsumugi are next. Gonta is trying to be nice but I dont think he understands that he is the Buff One™️ so getting grabbed may or may not kill Shuichi. Miu isnt seen til the end of her area, but Shuichi has to survive her inventions. Idea if he gives positive feedback when they meet face to face she let's him leave.Maki takes place outdoors, which is also how Shuichi learns hes in a dome thing (idk). I feel like her area (which is semi forest-y) would HEAVILY be focused on listening and paying very close attention to ones surroundings. Shes very stealth based, but i think her footsteps would be barely audible. Oh and her eyes glow (bc I think its neat.) Also have to make sure Shuichi doesnt run into any traps. One wrong move and theres a spear in his head 😔
One thing i'd like to say is that resting is a mechanic in this, it doesnt happen to Kaede very often, but it does at LEAST once every two areas for Shuichi. If he doesnt rest he starts hallucinating his dead friends. not very fun. He can rest in Himiko, Kirumi, Kaito, Gonta, and Kokichi's areas. SPEAKING OF KOKICHI
He's the only one that doesnt really try to kill Shuichi (Kaito and Gonta dont either, but its easier for Kokichi because some DICE members were Little Guys™️. Also lunar decided that he makes dolls of them.) Kokichi pretends he isnt trying to help, and is just keeping shuichi there for is own amusement, but he just doesnt want to deal with the guilt of knowing he'll die to Tsumugi (very mentally unstable one.) He holds a lot of built up guilt. I think he might accidentally kill Shuichi, but his mechanic is mostly its difficult to die AND escape from him. Shuichi's way of entering and exiting Kokichi's area is through vents, but Kokichi is probably hiding another exit. Come to think of it hes like Toriel from Undertale just more emotionally unstable.
Tsumugi appears at the beginning, but she doesnt attack the trio. she does set the trap that kills Rantaro, which Kaede and Shuichi thought was set by monokuma (who makes very brief appearances just to fuck with them). Now she does actively try to kill Shuichi. Shes very similar to The Lady (ln1) because they both hide behind their mannequins, I thought itd be fitting since shes Ultimate Cosplayer. Shes also (obviously) the hardest to get passed, because shes the final boss why tf would she be easy. Everyone is aware of everyone else, and they could all meet up if they wanted to. Personality wise (when Shuichi/Kaede isnt there) everyone is about the same, and they have all the same friendships.
also idea sometimes Kaito pats Shuichi on the back but because this is little nightmares it isnt encouraging shuichi just fucking dies ❤️

Kaede is a MENACE. If her and shuichi are traveling above other people and theres literally anything there she throws it at them. like how six can in the kitchen in ln1. Also before he actually dies Rantaro evades numerous near death experiences. he did not stand a chance against shot put ball apparently.
another note about rantaro is that i made him selectively mute. one because itd make him more mysterious and two because I dont know how to write most of these people. teehee im too lazy to watch a playthrough (i will eventually)
a lot of people might be ooc because of that reason, but within the actual story my reason is that because of this being little nightmares, everyone was transported to the Nowhere at a young age.
For the main trio, Kaede was taken at 8, Shuichi was at 5, and Rantaro was at 11
also theres unrequited saiouma now. sorry not sorry kokichi.

Sorry its just a sketchy drawing, ive been busy QwQ Ill make something better later (maybe...if i dont forget........) But I feel that Kokichi would be really upset to find Shuichi hurt or dead. He tries so hard to keep these little things safe, and every time, they wound up killed. Makes him wonder if its because of him that they keep dying ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

Extra notes!! If shuichi gets too injured or tired, he starts hallucinating Kaede and Rantaro (shown in upper right) which is definitely not fun with Maki, Kaito, Kokichi and Tsumugi (Tsumugi and Maki actively try to maul him, Kaito has too much energy, and he refused to sleep around Kokichi.)
Kaede was freaked by seeing Kiyo (hes spooky scary)
Tsumugi wanders around and hides behind her mannequins (she dresses them up)
also kokichi carries shuichi around like a cat.

LNMS Kokichi would be very emotionally unstable I think. He goes back and forth between angry outbursts, acting "normal" (think the playful, lying and childish bastard he is early game), and depressive fits. Loneliness does something to ya Ill tell you that

i drew this really fast just to have a decent idea. His pants and color scheme are about the same as in-game, just more simplified. Also I decided hed be like my LNMS oc Fourteen. He has a lantern now <3
The shirt underneath the coat is the same as in-game as well :P
i'd say that he DOES have his eyes be shown, (i didnt wanna draw them:3) he just has his head down to avoid eye contact with everyone.
Bonus fact because of animation (the joy I feel is never ending), Kaede just has a plain white t-shirt and pink shorts (shorts are easier to run in then a skirt, I think) And Rantaro has dark bluish green shorts and a t-shirt...
Shuichi uses magnify glasses like how Mono uses sticks/spoons/hammer :3
