Getting fit and healthy has primary nothing to do with spending hundreds of pounds on memberships, gear and courses. Yes, they can definetly benefit in getting to know what works for you/what you like, different methods and ways of sport and working out and building up a routine, but to fully change our life to the healthier, we must know that we can and should find joy in movement in many sections in our life that have 0 to do with money or institutions. Every step into a more active life, even the smallest one, is a move into the right direction and should be appreciated by yourself
INTRO: I’m a 43 year old mum of 2 from the UK who started out with the best intentions for a harmless health kick. Should have known better, but after being recovered for over a decade I’d let my guard down.
I’m bipolar and have had disordered eating in various forms since I was 15. Currently trying to walk the narrow path between being fat and being seriously ill. Some people might not agree with my thinking or approach which is totally fine, just move on and if anything I say is even remotely distressing to you please just block me and forget I exist.
Interactions: I’m happy to talk to anyone, so long as…
You don’t ask for tips/coaching/toxic stuff or anything else you can use to make yourself worse or ill in the first place. No one needs an ed in their lives, it’s not a route to beauty, popularity, or an easier life. It’s a set of destructive and dangerous illnesses that takes lives.
You understand that if you tell me you’re planning on doing something that will harm you, I’ll try to dissuade you and/or offer harm reduction information. I can’t make you take it, but you won’t stop me giving it. That doesn’t mean we can’t talk about difficult stuff but I try every day to resist my own destructive impulses, don’t expect me to encourage yours.
If you’re a creep hiding behind a fake profile sending unsolicited and inappropriate messages I’ll report you and call you out to protect younger and more vulnerable members of this community from being exposed to you.
I don’t do mean, I don’t do prejudice, I try to understand and not judge. So, be nice, open hearted, and accepting of the beautiful, diverse rainbow of humanity and we’ll get on just fine.
Remember that many "wellness" influencers care more about their wallet than about your actual wellness. If it triggers anxious thoughts about your life, if it makes you hate yourself, if you feel like your relationship with food is suffering, you may block and move on at any time. And THAT'S wellness.
Shane's eating disorder is something that needs to be talked about more and louder.
Orthorexia is a major issue that a lot of professional athletes face.
Shane wanted to be perfect and play hockey for much longer, forgetting about himself, perceiving himself and his body solely as a tool - something that just needs nutrients, not pleasure.
«I eat healthy carbs»
«You eat nothing»
«Shane was dying for a slice of Ilya’s greasy, sausage covered dinner, but he dutifully ate his salmon and garden salad»
«I don’t want a cookie. It was a lie. It was a fucking lie»
