hiiii, I really like your works!!!! do you write Lo’ak x reader? if you do, can I please request a story about Lo’ak x reader where they know they like each other and they go on dates and just hangs out but ofc not mated yet. just their families know about their relationship. and one day some guy who likes the reader and who’s really pushy (even though she keeps declining his courting) just kisses her without any permission and the reader tells Lo’ak about this so he goes in protective mode and just deals with this guy?
hii I didn't have anything in mind for Lo'ak yet so thank you for this request! 🫡 hope you like it

She is mine
Pairing: Lo'ak Sully x Omatikaya!reader (ft. Kiri, Spider, Neteyam)
Warning: angst, slow burn, protective possessive Lo’ak, hurt/comfort, “Touch her and you die” energy.
Summary: one unwanted kiss is all it takes to shatter your (and Lo'ak's) peace.
Everyone knew. It was impossible not to. When Lo’ak wasn’t causing trouble with Spider, he was attached to your side. You were his anchor and he was your favorite headache. While the Tsahìk and the Olo'eyktan had given their silent approval, you were enjoying the courting phase, the quiet swims, and the shared fruit under the bioluminescence forest.
Between dates and stolen kisses, your relationship grew stronger. One day, Lo’ak took you to a hidden ledge behind the High Camp waterfalls, a place where the spray turned into a shimmering mist.
He was trying to be thoughtful with you, bringing you some teylus, though he’d accidentally squashed half of them in his haste to climb up. You’d spent the evening laughing at his clumsy attempts to braid a warrior’s knot into your hair, his large fingers surprisingly gentle as they worked through your locks.
The walk back had been filled with soft touches and the comfortable silence of two people who knew exactly where they stood, even if the formal mating bond hadn't been acknowledged by the Great Mother yet. Your families knew—Jake’s sighs of "not another rebel" and Neytiri’s knowing smiles were enough confirmation.
The following afternoon, your peace was shattered. Lo'ak went haunting with Jake and you were coming back from the river when Arvok, a hunter who thought far too highly of his own tracking skills, cornered you. He had always been pushy, he couldn't take no for an answer, but today he was emboldened by the absence of the Sully boy.
When you tried to brush past him, he stood in front of you. "Still playing house with the half-blood?" he sneered.
"Go away." you warned, your ears flattening.
"He doesn't know how to treat a real Omatikaya woman. What are you doing with that demon?"
"Mind your business, Arvok," you snapped, your ears flattening. "I'm not interested in you. I'm with Lo'ak. Get over it."
"Just give me one chance to show you what you're missing," he said. Before you could even draw a breath to retort, he lunged forward.
An unwanted kiss was stolen. It wasn't romantic. It was a collision of teeth and pressure. You shoved him back with a snarl, hitting him across the face, but the damage was done. The violation felt like a cold film over your skin.
You hissed, your voice trembling with a mix of rage and shock. "Do that again and I’ll tell my father, I'll even tell Olo'eyktan."
-
You found Kiri near the spirit tree roots, your breath coming in jagged hitches. You didn't want to make a scene—you knew how the Sullys got—but you needed to tell someone.
She looked up, her expression softening instantly. "What’s wrong? You look like you’ve swallowed a stinger-bat."
"It’s Arvok," you said, your voice low and thick with frustration. "He hasn't stopped harassing me. He... he kissed me today, Kiri. I’ve told him no a thousand times, but he just laughs at my face."
Kiri’s eyes went wide, her hand reaching out to yours. "He did what?"
As you tell everything to her, the leaves behind you rustled violently. You expected a forest animal, but instead, Lo’ak stepped out from the shadows of a massive root.
His face was a mask of pure controlled rage. His tail wasn't lashing; it was stiff, and his eyes were blown wide, tracking every movement of your face. Kiri went silent, sensing the shift in the air.
"Lo'ak," you breathed, stepping toward him.
He didn't let you close the gap. He stayed two paces back, his voice vibrating with a low, dangerous frequency. "Did he touch you?"
"I'm fine, Lo'ak, I hit him—"
"I didn't ask if you hit him," he interrupted, his voice cracking with an intensity that made your breath hitch. He stepped into your space then, his hands were placed over your face with a gentleness as if afraid he’d break you if he touched you. "Did he put his hands on you? Did he... did he force that on you?"
You nodded slowly, the shame you shouldn't have been feeling bubbling up. "He never respects what I say. I've told him a thousand times to leave me alone. I'm sorry."
"Fucking skxawng." He didn't need to hear more. His vision was tunneling into a sharp, cold point of Na'vi instinct.
Lo’ak didn't go to his father. He didn't go to the elders. He went where Arvok was boasting to a group of younger hunters.
The crowd parted like the sea. Lo’ak didn't say a word. He didn't give a warning hiss. He simply walked up to Arvok and swung.
It was a perfect, brutal punch fueled by years of "demon-blood" strength and protective fury. The sound of Lo’ak’s knuckles meeting Arvok’s jaw echoed off the trees. Arvok spun, hitting the dirt hard.
"Lo'ak! Stop!" someone shouted, but Lo'ak didn't move. His tail was lashing behind him like a whip, his ears pinned so far back they were almost invisible.
Lo’ak was on him, pinning him down, his fist raised again. "You ever touch her again," Lo’ak roared, his voice cracking with the sheer volume of his rage, "you ever kiss her, look in her direction and I will not stop at a broken jaw. I will fucking kill you! She is mine! Do you hear me, skxawng?"
Arvok, dazed and bleeding from the mouth, could only nod frantically.
-
Later, you found Lo’ak back at your secret shelf, his knuckles split and bleeding.
You sat beside him, pulling his hand into your lap to clean the wounds with a damp cloth. He was quiet, his tail lashing rhythmically behind him, his eyes still shimmering with leftover adrenaline.
"You're a hothead," you whispered, though there was no heat in the words.
"I don't care," he muttered, turning his hand to grip yours. He pulled you closer, dragging you into his lap until you were tucked firmly against his chest. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling deeply, as if trying to replace the scent of Arvok blood with your perfume.
"I’m sorry," he muttered. "I know you can fight your own battles. I just... I heard what he did. I couldn't let it go." You could feel the slight tremor of his adrenaline fading.
"I'm not mad that you defended me, Lo'ak," you said softly, feeling the steady thrum of his heart. "Just... maybe less punches and blood next time?"
You felt him press a firm, lingering kiss on your head. He tightened his arms around you, squeezing, marking his territory.
"No promises," he whispered, his voice returning to that sweet, slightly cocky tone you loved. "Nobody touches my girl."
He took your face and leaned in, kissing you—properly this time, with a sweetness and a depth that erased every trace of the afternoon’s fight.
-
The morning after, for Lo’ak, the only thing that mattered was the fact that you were sitting exactly three inches away from him.
He was still in high alert mode. Every time a male hunter walked within twenty feet of you, Lo’ak’s ears would twitch, and his tail would give a sharp, warning flick.
"You’re going to give yourself a cramp if you keep tensing up like that," you whispered, leaning your shoulder against his as you ate a piece of fruit.
Lo’ak didn't look away from the path. "Just making sure the trash stayed taken out."
"Oh, it's definitely out," a voice chirped from behind you. Spider landed with his usual chaotic energy, followed closely by a much more composed Neteyam. "I saw Arvok by the healers’ tent this morning. His jaw is the size of a melon and he looks like he’s seen a ghost. Or, you know, a very angry Sully."
Neteyam sat down across from you both, a smirk playing on his lips.
"I heard three versions of the story by now," Neteyam said, picking up a bowl. "First, Lo’ak punched him. Then, Lo’ak wrestled a palulukan to save you. And for the younger kids, Lo’ak had apparently grown three feet taller and breathed fire."
"I think my favorite part was the 'She is mine!' roar. Very dramatic." Spider added, lean against a storage crate. "Did you practice that in the mirror, Lo’ak? Or does it just come naturally when you’re being a jealous, protective boyfriend?"
"Shut up" Lo’ak muttered, his ears burning a deep indigo.
Lo’ak’s hand instinctively went to your waist, pulling you firmly against his side. It was a silent, possessive claim that only made Spider cackle louder.
"Look at him! He’s doing it right now!" Spider pointed. "(Y/N), do you need us to rescue you? Blink twice if you’re being held hostage by his ego."
You laughed, leaning your head on Lo’ak’s shoulder. "I think I’m okay for now, Spider."
Neteyam’s expression softened, his teasing fading into that "big brother" pride. He caught Lo’ak’s eye and gave a small, respectful nod. "Dad’s not even mad about the fight, you know. He just told me to tell you to work on your follow-through. Apparently, you left your guard open."
Lo’ak scoffed, but you could see the tension finally leaving his shoulders. "Yeah, well, he wasn't exactly a challenge."
"Clearly," Neteyam said, standing up to head to the training grounds. "But seriously, little brother... good job. Nobody touches family."
As Spider and Neteyam walked away—Spider still making kissing noises and mocking Lo'ak’s 'tough guy' walk—Lo’ak let out a long, huffed breath. He turned his head, burying his nose in your hair for a second, a quiet moment of vulnerability amidst the morning chaos.
"They're not going to stop teasing me, are they?" he grumbled.
"Probably not," you admitted, reaching up to stroke the back of his neck. "But I didn't mind the 'She is mine' part."
Lo’ak pulled back just enough to look you in the eyes, his gaze intense and unyieldingly possessive. "Good. I don't care if the whole camp teases me. They all need to know exactly who you belong to."
He leaned in, giving you a firm, lingering kiss right in the middle of the crowded camp, daring anyone—Arvok or otherwise—to say a single word about it.
Lo’ak needed to steady himself as he walked along the pandoran floor, the soft crunching of the leaves beneath his feet.
The comforting smell of the trees, the gentle swaying of the breeze, the freshness of the first spring rain lay heavy in the air, he could taste the coolness of the air on the tip of his tongue.
The world itself was quiet as if it lay sleeping like the that of its inhabitants. Soothing should have been the words to describe it, gentleness that was rare to come by but Loak felt it. The thundering waves of sadness that washed over him like waves.
Never in his years had he experienced such melancholy.
For such a lost god he never let himself become familiar with the emotions the humans possessed, yet the humans embraced the emotions so bravely even the ones that seemed to hurt. Humans were the enigma at least to him of course, strange creatures with their constant ever changing beliefs.
As Lo’ak continued to venture closer to the source of the sadness he found a sulking mortal, and for once he was at a loss for words. There you were sitting idly under the trees surrounded by sadness, it was such a deep feeling, soulful in terms. Even he himself couldn’t help the ache he felt.
He observed you quietly trying to pinpoint the reason for this profound sadness, his eyes looking you over intently but he saw nothing that could give him answers.
“You are sad mortal? Yet I see no cause.” He stated.
He watches the way your eyes widen and your body tensed up before relaxing. “Just because there is no physical cause does not mean there is no reason for the sadness I feel within.”
Lo’ak let out a soft hum. “Then tell me mortal what is the cause of your pain?”
The silence was overwhelming even for him, his brows furrowed as he stared you down. “If you do not wish to tell me then I will be here every day to cheer you up.” He didn’t wait for an answer he simply turned and walked away.
The god kept true to his word, day by day he would find the sad mortal and spend his time with y/n. Unbeknownst to him however he was steadily falling with love with you. Each time he saw you the pain in your eyes seem to grow and he never knew how to help or ease it.
Lo’ak’s attempts to lift your spirits became a silent ritual, each day more agonizing than the last. He watched helplessly as the weight in your eyes deepened, the shadows beneath them lengthening like scars etched into your soul. Despite his divine presence and endless patience, he felt an ache clawing at his chest because he could do nothing to mend what was broken inside you.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the forest in a melancholic hue, you finally looked at him with tear-streaked cheeks and trembling lips. Your voice, barely more than a whisper, broke the heavy silence.
“I appreciate your kindness, Lo’ak… but some wounds aren’t meant to heal. Some pain is too deep, too permanent. No matter how much I wish it weren't so, I’ve come to accept that I’ll carry this sadness forever.”
His divine heart clenched painfully, but he said nothing. Instead, he reached out, gently brushing your trembling hand with his own, desperate to offer some comfort, some salvation from the torment he saw in your eyes. But it was too late. The damage had already been done.
Days blurred into nights as Lo’ak watched you slip further away, your spirit fading like a dying ember. The despair in your heart had become a silent scream, and he was powerless to stop it. With every passing moment, he realized that the love he had developed was a cruel and bitter gift—one that only deepened his suffering.
Finally, one bleak morning, you disappeared into the shadows of the forest, leaving behind only the echo of your sadness and the ghost of your presence. Lo’ak searched endlessly, calling your name into the emptiness, but you were gone—lost to the depths of your sorrow, swallowed by the darkness that had taken hold of you.
And so, the god was left standing alone amidst the whispering trees, haunted by the memory of what he could not save, knowing that sometimes even divine beings are powerless against the depths of human pain.

It had only been two days since the incident and it felt as if you were learning how to walk before running all over again, only this time you weren’t alone. This time you have Him.
Today you were sitting in the Sully’s marui, all having lunch and for once you were laughing and having a good time. You didn’t actively ignore Lo’ak but made sure you didn’t engage with him. As you all were eating Jake spoke up. “What’s this I hear about you being seen around the village with a warrior y/n?” This made Neytiri straighten up, giving you a look you know too well. You let out a few nervous chuckles as you squirmed around.
“I-it um..” you weren’t sure what to say, you always thought of Jake and Neytiri as your second parents. Ever since you could remember you were always with the Sully’s, if you weren’t at home you were with them or their kids, and your parents never minded because you were always safe. For Jake to ask randomly made you nervous, how do you tell the people watching out for you that you caught the eye of a warrior?
You give them a small smile as you finally relax after trying to gather your thoughts. "His name is Naeem and like Aonung he is one of the youngest warriors.. or well hunters for the Metkayina... He is very level-headed and kind. very very strong too, please don't make me leave him alone." You rushed out the last thing you wanted was to be away and leave Naeem alone, you haven't felt this happy since before leaving home. Jake and Neytiri shared a brief look before Jake spoke up, resting his hand on your head. "Dont worry kid, was just curious." you released the breath you didn't know you were holding as you relaxed into Jake. "Thank you."
After lunch you found yourself sitting with Naeem in your marui while he watched you make jewelry from beautiful shells you had collected. Glancing up at him you let your hands rest in your lap. "You are quiet, is something wrong?" Now Naeem talked very little around others but with you, it was like he was a completely different person. "I am fine tanhi, just admiring you as you work. You look very beautiful." such a simple response yet it had your heart beating like crazy inside your chest.
It was quiet for a little longer such a relaxing quiet and comfort that only he provided for you. A pair of soft lips pressed against your forehead, his big hand holding onto the back of your head gently. The scent of fruits and saltwater clouded your senses, and your eyes closed on their own as you relaxed into the small bit of affection. His kiss lingered before he pulled away slowly to look over your face, he loved how pretty your skin was, and the way your freckles were scattered along your skin. "I have to go yawne but I will be back at dinner." With another soft kiss to your forehead, he was off leaving you in a slightly dazed state.
You sat with the Sullys for dinner with the clan, Tuk sat snuggly in your lap as you were speaking with Kiri about the things she's been doing. You were so into the conversation you didn't realize that everyone got quiet until you heard the sound of a throat being cleared, turning your attention away from Kiri you looked up to see Naeem.
His hair which was usually kept down was tied up in a neat bun on the top of his head, and his ocean-blue eyes showed with nervousness as he knelt down before you. Both of Naeem's hands opened before you, in one was a leaf wrapping that contained food, and in the other was a piece of jewelry, a bracelet. The bracelet was beautiful a mix of pearls and beads held together by a strong string of sorts.
You sat quietly as you looked between him and the items laying in his hands, he publicly announcing to the clan that he wished to take you as his mate. Smiling shyly you reached out accepting the food first before lifting your arm up and holding your hand out so he could put the bracelet around your wrist. As he fastens the bracelet you noticed a new armband that clings to his bicep, the pearls and beads matching your bracelet.
Naeem felt nothing but relief flood his very being, he was unsure of if you returned his affections because of your quiet and reserved nature. Now that he knows you feel the same he plans on doing everything he can now and even after you both have mated to give you everything you desire.
You felt as if all the broken pieces of your heart were slowly being put together by this man and you couldn't be happier. That all the pain of watching your first love leave was worth it when it came to this Na'vi male. You understood that in this moment you never had to experience being alone, never would you feel so alone again. It was as if, with just one look into his eyes, you knew. That this was his promise.
From him to you.
s/n: I was thinking about making this the last chapter of the series. I figured it would be a good spot to end it. Let me know.

Everyone was gathered around on the rock still learning the ways of the water, you picked up things quickly to avoid being around the others. Avoided the pity glances from the Sully’s and the questioning gaze of Ao’nung and Roxto, luckily for you Tsireya never bother you and you liked it that way. As friendly and as nice as she was you didn’t like her around you, but that wasn’t your fault. You preferred being away from them, it helped ease the pain that you grew accustomed to, the pain that you accepted.
You sat with your legs hugged to your chest quietly listening to the conversation that was currently happening training now forgotten about. They were telling stories of before you guys left the Omatikaya clan. “Lo’ak had an indent of a rock on his forehead for an entire month!” Neteyam chuckled at the memory as he told the story of Lo’ak falling and landing on a rock, you couldn’t help but smile. You were there that day making sure he was okay before his own mother and father could get to him. “The skxawng whined all the time about it, it got so bad that Y/n punched him in the cheek for it.” You found yourself giggling as Kiri spoke of that day, the memories still fresh, still vivid in your mind they played over and over like a record that you couldn’t help but rewind. Like your favorite song that you never wanted to lose because then it would become so hard to find.
“Guys seriously why are all the stories about me!” Whined Loak the others laughed and you couldn’t help but scoff. “Because you’re the only one stupid things happen to.” You found yourself saying softly, your eyes finally landing on his before looking around the group smiling just a bit. It was the first time you’ve actually spoken besides answering questions, you had grown tired of all the questions, you just wanted to be alone truthfully.
After a bit more talking and avoiding Lo’aks questioning gaze you immediately hurried off to be alone. You went to leave so you could find your comfort in the silence you craved, the silence you grew to love. It was a security blanket, one that you begged to be wrapped up in on days like this. Finding yourself in a secluded part of the village you laid on your back basking in the setting sun and the feel of the warm sand against the back of your skin. You closed your eyes bathing in the sound of the waves.
Your ears didn't pick up any sounds of the approaching feet crunching in the sand. You only knew who it was when they began speaking to you. “Y/n don’t talk to me much anymore, you actually don’t even look at me.” Letting out a small huff you did your best to keep your cool as you heard his statement. The footsteps only stopped a few feet away, you opened your eyes to see Lo’ak crouched down in front of you, a frown on his lips as he glared at you. “Today was the first time in nearly four months I’ve heard your voice.” He grumbled his tail moving slowly behind him as his ears perked up. “I miss you. Do you know that I still need you.”
His words hurt your heart, the instant pain felt suffocating. “It’s not like you noticed.. you haven’t noticed you’ve been to busy with your love to notice anything or anyone around you.” You spoke your voice was soft, no sign of life or fight as you spoke your truth. He opened and closed his mouth as he listened, after taking a few moments he responded. “That’s not true I only pulled away because you started acting funny! Treating me differently.” His voice was angry his fist balled up in his lap. You immediately sat up this, the change of emotions hitting you so quickly.
“You need me?? Don’t you fucking lie! You don’t need me. You only needed me until you didn’t! I was all you wanted until I wasn’t! Until you didn’t need me anymore. I was just a want for you, something you had until you didn’t want me anymore!” Your voice was calm despite all your emotions running haywire. “You were all I had known! All I had wanted! You weren’t a want for me, you were a need.” You yelled at him, getting onto your knees to push at his chest repeatedly, you felt the tears building up in your eyes. “You were all I needed. You called me and I came! You told me to come, to leave everything I knew because it was you and me!” A choke sob broke free but your tears never fell.
“It was me and you.. I saw you when no one else did! Did you know that? All those times you were alone, when you felt outcasted, when you had no one. I was there I saw you Lo’ak, every last bit of you.” Your words were a whisper, but he could not find a lie within your words, because not a trace of a lie fell from your lips, your words cut his heart so deep from within he flinch as if you had physically hit him. With one final push to his chest he fell back eyes wide and full of unshed tears, as quick as your body could move you turned and ran, ran without stopping, ran until you were far away from Lo’ak.
You wanted to be away from everything, everyone. You needed to be alone, needed to feel the solitude, you needed to feel the blanket of warmth that the quiet provided. The serenity that being alone brought you, you craved the touch of peace, because it was all you had come to need.

nova – a star that suddenly increases its light output tremendously and then fades away to its former obscurity
it was debilitating, how loak had seen you for the first time. he so often had found comfort in your agitated manner and bitter tone, the two of you endlessly spitting hate at eachother in a vicious cycle; but just now, he had walked in on you talking to a man he didn’t recognize with relaxed features and soothing hands. it almost felt like he was invading, unwelcome and undeserving of the sight. and suddenly your hands were on him, foreign in their tranquility. fatigue clawed at his body as he stumbled away, but he was preoccupied; your delicate cheekbones and eased expression gripped at his chest. it was unbearable, agonizing, and loak felt antsy to get away. he all but ran from your hut, throat stinging with remorse.
loak felt the urge to scrub the ghost of your touch off of him; rid himself of your clouding scent. he lowered himself into a stream despite the newly applied medicine coating his skin. he wasn’t ignorant to the way it washed off and left him in searing pain, but it was your fingers that put it there. loak scrubbed frantically with uneven breath, labelling the emotion that clung to him as disgust.
✶✶✶✶
there was a large string of visitors pouring into the hut, fresh from the raid. uncertainty swam in your brain tauntingly, but there was no time to entertain it. it was hours before you and maiya sent the last of them off, both weary. as you collapsed into the seat beside her, your drained muscles screamed with exhaustion. after reveling in the stillness for some time, she slowly got up and brought an herbal tea to your hands. you glanced up at her and accepted it with gratitude.
“we did good work today, y/n. what you need now is rest.” looking down at the mug in your hands, you smile. you were relieved that your earlier argument hadn’t affected her attitude towards you, but your mind was elsewhere. why had loak left like that, disoriented and stand-offish? it made you suspicious, and slightly annoyed; his behaviour had been all over the place with you lately, and you didn’t have time to analyze the reason behind it. but still, the image of his shaking hands gnawed at your brain. finishing your tea with a final chug, you left maiya with an inattentive goodbye and went home.
✶✶✶✶
you had recently taken up weaving on kiri’s suggestion, but after a few sessions with her, your uncoordinated fingers still only left behind a knot in the material. you were perched on the ledge of a branch, not far from your usual gathering area. you groaned, toes curling in frustration after another failed attempt at making a simple pattern. how is it that you could stitch up a wound so easily but not command a single string of yarn to do your bidding? tossing it to the side, you mutter a few choice words before noticing movement on the ground below. you assumed it was kiri, watching as blue flashed through the leaves. she was the only other person you knew to walk this area. you hurriedly climb down the treetrunk, hoping to ask her for a little more help in the craft.
as you approached the navi, you see that is definitely not kiri. loak’s muscles rippled under the skin of his back as he took long strides, not stopping as he spoke. “walk louder, will you?” an annoyed frown passed over your lips. while your ears weren’t as refined as his, you really weren’t making a lot of noise. you nudge his shoulderblade with force, sneering. why did he go out of his way to be play nice if he was just going to be a dick afterwards? “what’s your problem, loak? whatever game you’re playing at, i’m not interested.” he abruptly turned to you, gritting his teeth. “for fuck’s sake! just leave me alone, y/n.” you laugh at the irony of his statement. “excuse me? you’re the one who won’t get off my back. walking into my hut all the time, following me, looking through my journal–what the fuck is wrong with you?” frustration was quickly seeping its way into your bones; this whole situation was way too out of depth for your usual petty fights. it was becoming too personal, too close. the words you threw at eachother now carried weight.
loak squinted his eyes, feeling defensive. “let me make it clear. you have nothing i want. you’re just waiting on the sidelines all day to put bandaids on the people who actually fight. don’t get mad at me because you’re incapable of doing any other job. even if you do, you’re stuck with it,” he snarled, tail whipping behind him as he loomed over you. your hands began to shake with rage. “seriously, what would your grandmother say? or are you already such a disappointment that she wouldn’t even be surprised?” loak’s fiery eyes flamed down at you, hand reaching to grip your bicep hard in warning. “that would make two of us,” he spit.
you aimed a punch up at his face. loak was able to dodge it, but not before your fist grazed his chin. he growled, shoving you aggressively into the ground and throwing a leg over your torso. the way his teeth were barred so close to your face should have had you scared, but you were high off the adrenaline; basking in the familiarity of the argument after so much recent unease. your skin practically glowed. you yank hard at his queue in a fruitless attempt to pull him off of you, but he was quick to make a grab at your hands, crushing them harshly above your head with his own as he seethed. your lips curled into your teeth as you hissed at him, his eyes dropping to trace the action. your breaths mingled for a fraction of a second, heavy with unspoken words, before he dipped his face down to yours. he was adamant about avoiding your eyes while his mouth moved against yours drunkenly, as if to say: this doesn't mean anything.
his heavy, clouded eyes analyzed you in a trance; suddenly wanting more, yet very aware of your stillness against him. he had to play it right. he nudged his leg between your own. when you began to kiss him back with equal force, he felt feverish. loak’s lips pressed into yours harshly, prodding your mouth open eagerly with his tongue. your teeth clashed together and you stuttered under the weight of his mouth. you raised your head from the grass and shoved back against him, biting at his lips. the sound of irregular, shuddering breaths passed back and forth between the two of you, as if it was a conversation in itself. it all felt like too much. you rip yourself away from the kiss abruptly as if you were burned, and his tongue instead travels down your neck. your breath comes out in hot puffs, brows knitting together.
he was everywhere, and your head was spinning. this wasn't supposed to be happening. you were supposed to confront him, push him around, make him feel sorry. that was always how it went, how it should be going now. you began to feel restless under his touch as his large hands detached from your wrists in favour of roaming your body. they glide down your waist, grip at your hips, caress your thighs. your eyes began to swell with frustration as you clawed at his back; you felt like you were jumping out of your skin each time you reacted to him. wordless conversations weren't enough. you take advantage of your free hands, roughly pushing him off of you before you could reveal too much. "get the fuck out of here, loak."
Warnings: Angst.. alll the angst.. no thing else but angst.

Being along has always been something that wasn’t foreign to you. In fact you embraced the comfort that being alone brings to you.
The silence was so welcoming that being around people felt so suffocating, so consuming that you felt you were drowning in a never ending sea of people. The voices so loud you felt as if you needed to claw at your own ears.
But then where was him. You never minded his overwhelming personality, one that was very different from yours. He loved to adventure be reckless, he loves to have fun, and you? God you couldn’t stand being out of your comfort zone but for him? You’d do anything.
To you, he was the embodiment of perfection. The color of his eyes were like that if the sun. Soft yet warm pools of yellow that seem to swallow you and fill your entire body with warmth. The way he laughed when you told a stupid joke, a very unfunny stupid joke at that. You enjoyed the sound of his voice and how much taller he was compared to you. You adored every single part of his different features. A human and a na’vi such a crazy thing, yes there was spider, but you and him were completely inseparable, as thick as thrives Jake often said.
One night you both lay awake staring up at the sky, you wrapped up in his body feeling safe and warm. “It’s you and me against the world y/n. Forever. I see you.” He said as he turned to stare at you, oh god those eyes.. those pretty yellow eyes that lit up at night. You could help but smile and repeat the words. “I see you.” And you did you saw him for everything that he was. You knew that for you he was it, he was your everything. A kiss was all it took for you to give him every ounce of your heart.
Until you weren’t his, until he wasn’t even yours, until everything changed.
It had been exactly three months since The Sully family and yourself have been at the Metkayina clan. Exactly three months as you watched him pull away from you, exacty three months that you’ve sat watching him fall in love with that beautiful Metkayina girl you couldn’t even bring yourself to hate.
It made much more sense for him and her because you were just a human, a small fragile thing. So easily breakable. Yuh couldn’t do the things they did no matter how hard you tried. You couldn’t keep up, you were such the weakest link, the runt. You felt completely out of his league.
You sat and watched, knowing that this love you had for him was now nothing to him. Your friendship felt like single fragment of your imagination and the only thing that made it real was the fact the no matter how bad you wanted to escape you couldn’t.
You watched as they snuck off at night, how they sat together, how they were now inseparable, every small glance, every little touch, every word even the ones left unsaid. You seen it all yet you refused to let the hurt show. You knew as well as anyone that the heartbreak you were facing was unavoidable so you accepted it full force. Once again accepting the solace of being alone, the feeling of peace it brought. You couldn’t understand how you enjoyed being alone to hate how it felt to truly to alone. Because even when you were alone he was always there, somewhere.
You sat at the beach toes buried in the sand, watching as the waves crashed against the shore. Once again alone, this time however you didn’t mind the feeling, you couldn’t afford too. Staring up at the stared in the sky a look of contempt on your face. “I’ve never felt so alone, now that I ain’t got you here.” Your voice whispered ever so softly into the night air letting the silence carry it for you, letting the heaviness lift from your heart as you accepted the quiet. Finally accepting being so alone.

you had known loak since you were four years old. he would scoff at your small achievements and be quick to retort with one of his own. if you climbed a particularly intimidating tree, he’d climb higher. if you had perfect aim with your bow, he’d rush to shoot at your target first. he antagonized you at every corner, and you quickly grew to hate him in return. his taunting voice was acid in your ears as it ghosted down your spine. when the two of you were twelve, you had gotten into your first physical fight. he yanked at your tail, and you did the same to his queue. by the time jake had found you, you were both covered in dirt and had tumbleweeds for hair, leaves sticking out haphazardly. you had gotten chewed out good for that, all the while sharing scowls with eachother across the room. now, you weren’t an ungracious woman; it didn’t matter who started it, but you’ll be damned if he gets the last blow.
at nineteen, loak’s shoulders had filled out and his scrawny frame became a sinewy, looming presence. you two would orbit around eachother, clashing periodically–inevitably. it wasn’t pretty, it was rather captivating like a car crash; addicting to watch the insults bounce off eachother like sparks. it was jarring to others at first; the way your usually reserved and civil manner morphed rapidly into something unruly, uncontainable. you were sure he got satisfaction from this, sometimes catching the twitch of a mocking, almost-smile at the corner of his lips at the thought of you losing face infront of a crowd. you had attempted to reel yourself in on countless occasions, but his teasing, expectant gaze was all the more infuriating. one day, you swore to yourself, you’d wipe the gratification off his face and hold it hostage as your own.

you rose from your hammock in the early hours of the morning. healing the injured and unwell, waiting on their every ailment with eager and tender hands, didn’t necessarily strike you as a career path you wanted to go down, but the cards were dealt that way; the RDA was steadily seeping into the edges of omatikayan territory, and there was a pressing need for helping hands on the sidelines. as an apprentice healer, you mainly spent your time preparing various ointments for the warriors on the frontlines. this meant you first had to gather the ingredients, most of which grew deeper in the forest than most bothered to venture to. kiri was an exception, spending her early teenage years finding solace in branches far from hometree. it naturally became a routine for you to head out with her in search of plants with healing properties. she would watch you intently over your shoulder, smiling quietly to herself as you handled the flora with delicate, yet expert hands. as the dawn bled into the clouds above, you headed over to her hut, now knowing the path like the back of your hand.
“y/n!” her face split into a grin when she saw you standing in the entrance. you felt your lips lilt to match the expression of your best friend. you notioned wordlessly to the gathering basket in your arms, taking care not to startle tuk from her sleep. as you walked the forest floor together, you easily slipped into animated conversation about your elders. “i actually think maiya’s got it out for me, she rarely lets me work with the wounded. i’ve gotta be on my best behaviour so she doesn’t rip me a new one.” kiri snorted, bumping your shoulder lightly. “keep your chin up, maybe she’s waiting for your prince charming to waltz in with a missing arm.” once you reached your destination, you crouched to your knees, resting on the balls of your feet to harvest the plants.
satisfied with your diverse collection of leaves and flowers, you return to hometree just before noon, making a beeline towards the healing hut. maiya greets you with her lips pressed into a thin line, humming while you begin to sort your pile on the counter. as you grind the juice from a large alocasia leaf with a wooden mortar and pestle, loak enters the hut with his ears low and hands at his side, clasping them repeatedly like he didn’t know what to do with them. you offer him a brief frown and peer over at your elder, who decidedly doesn’t pause her task for his unceremonious entrance. you place the pestle down and bite your tongue, begrudgingly motioning for him to sit on the mat. his shoulder carries a small gash, and you notice there is a bruise forming on his ribcage. “fell down a hill. fix it up.” he bristles, feeling your heavy gaze roam his body. you wanted to laugh in his face, jeer at his crude appearance, but without this position you’d be lost and unknown to the clan. loak, on the other hand, had his duties made clear from birth–handed to him. you envied the clarity of his future.
loak watches as you gingerly apply the medicine, stomach knotting at the feeling of your slender hands on his shoulder. your eyes burn his skin, and he restlessly fidgets in his seat. “stop moving, jackass,” you snap quietly. he hates it, hates you. he hates that you hate him. when you first met, his eyes chased after your soft hair and his ears flicked at your melodic voice. all those years ago, he tried to impress you with his skills, and you took it as a competition. it was frustrating, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to admit to the initial intention behind his actions. had you not seen him as a worthy partner? was it not painfully obvious, you’d wait for him to say it? well, bullet dodged. he didn’t consider you someone to impress anymore. instead, he relished in the igniting glare you’d give him as he casually whispered provocations in your ear. loak wanted you to feel bothered, threatened by his effortless skill.
you feel his eyes crawling on your skin as you uncomfortably shift closer to apply the cream to his ribs. your fingers dance across his torso, and he grits his teeth in irritation. once you’ve finished, you’re quick to put space between yourself and him. his mouth twists as he looks up at you, about to say something, before he seems to change his mind. he abruptly stands with hands in fists, pivoting hard on his heel out of the hut without a word.
