Abberations of the Black Forest birds based on Ayin Benjamin and Carmen
Was just thinking of how unhealthy Benjamin/Hokma would be outside of that small group, away from Ayin and anyone else who knows him, and... somehow, due to thinking of various different AUs of mine, came up with the phrase "Ayin-seeking missile" to describe him.
Because I mean. If he has no Ayin and there is Ayin then he will find Ayin. This has been a proven fact.
Okay so like Live laugh love Old Man Benjamin, give him them wrinkles right? But why. Why only him. Why is he so greedy why does he get all the wrinkles. Give Carmen wrinkles. Give Ayin wrinkles. CMON CHAT. CMONNNNN GIVE THEM WRINKLES, AGE THEM YOU HAVE TO CMON CMON!!!

Going through Hokma's Ruina episodes has me like. Man yeah I love this guy so much.
"I am of the belief that sympathy and love are no different from each other. At the end of the day, sympathy motivates one to understand the circumstances of others and reach out to them to make their lives better… How can I not acknowledge it as a form of love?"
Like!! That line!!!
And I can't help but feel like this has to have something to do with why he came to appreciate Ayin the way he does even now.
I mean- "sympathy motivates one to understand the circumstances of others and reach out to them to make their lives better." Where might that have come from? The urge to reach out and make others' lives better? He certainly didn't join the Seed of Light Project for Carmen's sake, he even says so directly to Roland!
No, I'm sure that this is direct support for the idea that this is what Ayin himself felt, or at the very least the cause and effect of Ayin's actions and intent.
The urge to make others' lives better.
Not to enable them to fight back, not to enable them to express to the world how they truly are, but to make their lives better.
Something that can only be done with love and sympathy, which are as Hokma says basically the same thing, and love can only happen when you're working with other people, and accepting companionship with them. Notable, because this ties in with Chesed being the Sephrah of compassion and kindness, as well as "Those who are Faithful and Trustworthy" - Chesed and Hokma use very interchangeable words when described, I find.
But essentially, you can't make someone's life better with them being on their own - it has to be among other people.
Which is diametrically opposed to Carmen's ideal of individualism, and heavily suggests that it wasn't her who pu that into anyone's head.
There's not that many people in the City who'd have fanciful, idealistic thoughts like that. Most of them would have been pulled into the Seed of Light Project.
Only one of them fits the bill, and only one of them is the one who Benjamin believed in so much, and still has faith in.
And... I say "why he came to appreciate Ayin" because it's not that I think Benjamin's personality was entirely just blank before Ayin came along, but... he, like everyone else in the City, would have been ground into his own role, no matter his own feelings and dreams. He'd have had his own ideals.
But then he sees someone who's assumedly still battered by the City but who hasn't given up, and- how could someone like Benjamin not see that endurance of sympathy in the face of the City's cruelty to be an amazing thing that he wishes to be near, and learn from?
We all are drawn to the aspects of others that we respect and hold in high esteem ourselves, after all.
the Ayin, Benjamin and Carmen bowl has got out of hand.
I'm putting garion and two claws in it.
They're just vibing. uh. do you remove them?
no they clearly enjoy this.
Dunk them in chronological order
