I don’t know if the ship thing is still up, but I ship her with Portugal, mostly because of history (Iberian Union, since she was still married with Spain that time and the Spanish War of Succession since they were side by side in the war). My otp -q

oh i don’t mind talking about ships at any time! i’ve seen your Aus/Port stuff floating around too! that’s definitely a relationship i want to explore more. i write her as rather jealous of the Iberian Union, until she spends time with Portugal and gets to like him (her if anyone prefers, i set him as male in my universe but it doesn’t matter). there may or may not be some sharing going on, haha…

i admit, with the War of Spanish Succession i’m not an expert on Port’s status- as i understand, he essentially said ‘the hell with this’ to Spain and France, joined up with the Grand Alliance (that’s Austria, England & co.) and apparently then demanded that the Austrian Archduke come to see him, lmao. that’s actually a really nice little tidbit for a fic and something i might have to nod to in my current one. there’s another dark haired, tanned, ponytailed person to add to her collection…Portugal’s personality seems to be almost a little mischievous with the way he cheerily drags Spain, so i think Austria would enjoy that around the time of her divorce, haha!
