Deerweed!
What is it? Its a bush in the pea family that grows on sand along the California Coast.
Why is it so cool? As if you need a reason, for some weird reason, it thrives the year after a forest fire.
Which is pretty good considering California is always on fire.
Then,
These bushes help soil recover by shoving nutrients down to replace the lost ones. MVP plant.
What can you use it for?
make a broom, basket, or other craft out of the strong flexible branches!
If you were to burn the wood, the smoke is black. Use it for natural dye or extra power
