My home LARP has been devastated by a massive loss.
TLDR: Every piece of set dressing, props, and NPC costumes for my home LARP, Lands of Exile, have been stolen.
Last week, a group of professional criminals stole the trailer that we transported all of the plot elements for our LARP in. We know they were professionals, because there were extensive safety measures placed onto the trailer, and they bypassed all of them without a single mark. Every single one. (Including the fact that it was in a designated trailer lot.)
We stored all of those plot elements in that trailer, too. So while the thieves probably were just interested in the trailer, they took all of our hard work with them.
Thousands of dollars worth of equipment. Items gathered and crafted over 6 years.
Gone.
One of the things that messes with me the most, is how these people likely saw the contents of this trailer and simply tossed them. Maybe they tried to pass some things off to pawn shop, or at least give them to a thrift store, but it absolutely breaks my heart to think of these cherished items thrown away in a dumpster somewhere.

At the bottom of it: Lands of Exile is my home. I couldn’t help but write a whole novel of a post because I am hurt by this so deeply. It’s cruel and unfair that someone’s careless act of selfishness could devastate not just me, but all of my friends. We are a strong group and are already planning crafting days and are still looking for the trailer, so I know we will survive, and even thrive! We just have to get past the shock first.
