I have been accused of victim blaming for a post I made on facebook
I have read my post half a dozen times. I still don’t see how I was victim blaming
it’s getting to me that I can’t see how I was unclear. also, victim blaming makes it sound like I am saying the guy who died deserved it. no one fucking deserves to die, jesus. but there were dangerous things going on beyond whether the driver was drunk or not? i’m not looking to assign blame, but things were dangerous and ARE dangerous around here. had there been lights no that road, had the people at the party all been wearing led lights, had there been a security guard or some separation of the parked cars and the road, had there NOT BEEN A PARTY that was this big and this undercontrolled, this might not have gone down like it did. all people who walk around outside in the dark wearing fucking DARK CLOTHING and no lights should assume that they are invisible to drivers. how is that victim blaming? it’s not only drunk drivers who hit people. sober drivers can’t see shit. drunk and high people outside have terrible depth perception and they fucking lurch around like crazy. jesus, like, have you ever been driving and had someone come out of the dark? it’s fucking terrifying. it’s not what happened here, but it as dark, there were so many drunk people, there was no fucking lights. wear goddamn lights people. how is that blaming the victim? it’s good fucking sense. it’s a simple thing, to make led lights a commonplace item to wear if you’re gonna be drinking outside of your own house, how is there a downside to that recommendation?
the person who accused me of victim blaming was like, the blame is on the drunk driver. The blame is on the people who threw the damn party in the first place. we also DON”T know he was drunk. we may all have opinions but we DON”T know for sure. You don’t have to be drunk to cause an accident. “drunk drivers aren’t gonna care about led lights” yeah, but the SOBER drivers CAN see them and how is that a bad thing? If someone falls into a creek and passes out, drowns, they might be found if they’re wearing a light? if someone falls down a cliff they might be found before they die of bloodloss or they drown? if someone is in a snowstorm, you might see a blinking light before they die of exposure?
people fucking die here from drinking too much and then going out in the dark and they can’t be fucking seen and no one knows where they are and they fall or they pass out and they die. it’s not victim blaming to say maybe in the future WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO WEAR LIGHTS jesusfuck
Downtown Seattle - November 10th, 2017
i want to go to the local gay bar, but i’m afraid it’ll be like the PrideCenter at university where it was all about being in-or-out of The Clique. i’m clearly out of said clique. but i’d love to enter, if possible.
PTSD from the King Soopers shooting a few years ago is rising due to the attack on Pearl Street today...
A Shithead, full of hate, set PEOPLE ON FIRE during a peaceful protest..6 people got hurt.
Wasn't able to go back to that King Soopers for 3 months after that...who knows how long it'll be til I feel safe going downtown this summer.
This timeline sucks.
Just rode by some graffiti that read "My bitch got a 40 with a dick on it". What did she mean by this?
I've been well btw!
A bad bitch
