It is clear that a diverse set of actors can become involved in the making of state and local public policy. For many state and local governments the process can become rather complex, featuring a multitude of actors engaged in one or more aspects of policymaking. In this case Steven Fulop a Democrat who holds the seat for the mayor of Jersey City. He was widely considered likely to run for Governor in 2017 but ended this speculation by announcing his intention to run for re-election as mayor.
The Mayor’s Office is the Executive Branch of local government.
