Location Preview - the City of Ren Sáron
The magocratic city of Ren Sáron is the capital seat for the Kel'Mor Mages and hosts the High Council every year.
During the Age of Chaos, the first Mages (called the Kel’Tor) created a city to act as their base of operations. It was considered a neutral territory and a place for safety, knowledge and power. Ren Sáron quickly became the central location for those united against the Chaos.
After the Final Battle, Ren Sáron managed to survive the burst of energy and became the new headquarters for the Kel’Mor Mages. It is one of the most populated cities in Noraedor as people view Ren Sáron as the safest city in the world and the Star Tower, where the Kel Mor reside, offers many benefits to the city’s citizens. Over the centuries, Ren Sáron expanded its borders and is now a small country in Noraedor. It is ruled by the Kel’Mor’s magocratic government - the elected Kel’Dorn and Kel’Vaen.
The city is divided into two sections; the Star Tower, which is based on an island in the Arielle Bay and the Greater City, which has been built up over the last two thousand years to the edge of its cliffs. There is a tall, magical border where the ocean meets Arielle Bay; this was created duing the previous Age to protect the city from the sea’s waves, creating eerily calm waters around Ren Sáron. Some say it seems like the city is built in the heart of a lake, not by the sea. Ships pass through the shimmering border unharmed, although the sailors always look uneasy. The city boasts a reputation for being the most beautiful settlement in the continent because of its beautiful architecture. The elegant bridges that connect the Star Tower to the rest of the city float across the water, sustained by an unknown magic. Sometimes Ren Sáron is known as the City of Bridges because of its many interconnected canals.
The island where the Star Tower is based has remained the same since the Age of Chaos and is named after the tower which can be seen from leagues away. A huge star (the artefact Cellos'Rhin) floats above the central tower, giving the tower its founding nickname, and reflects colourful lights across the waters.
