About Time ► Alex and Phoebe

He'd asked Phoebe to lunch because they hadn't spent much time together since Jagger died. Truth be told, he was still blaming himself for it, despite everyone's words, and he didn't want to hear that she blamed him too. There wasn't a day that went by that Alex didn't think about what had been taken from his sister -- and he hated that Jagger had died because Alex had asked him to be there. If he'd just left well enough alone, the Hellhound would still be alive, and Phoebe would still be happy. Nevertheless, he knew that he couldn't avoid the topic forever, so he'd asked her to join him at the Vortex. Walking in, he took a seat near the back, ordering a drink as he waited for the Harpy to show.

Keep On Keeping On ► Noah and Open

In the days after the Halloween debacle, Noah had thrown himself into work and taking care of Scarlett. He was more determined than ever to find out what happened to his family, and hadn't even really taken any time to heal the injuries that had been inflicted on him at the hands of the crazy rednecks that had kept him hostage. He was limping still, but wasn't letting it get him down -- or stop him from grabbing a burger and a beer at Vortex. Sitting with his back to the wall, the human had his eyes downcast, staring at the menu when he sensed someone was near. "Might as well sit down," Noah said without even looking up. "Beats standing there staring at me."

The paperwork was done, the keys handed over, now the only thing left to do was finish packing up his things and move him and Talos over to the lake house.  Of course, he was keeping his Bass Lofts Apartment, hoping that if someone untoward came looking for him, they'd come there...and, quite frankly, he didn't want to give up the loft. It was home...but it was time to move on.  These were the thoughts running through his head as he bellied up the bar at Vortex, intent on getting a burger and a drink -- a strong one, before heading home for his last official night in the loft.  "Can I get a scotch neat and a menu, please?" he asked, scoping out the bar to see if he recognized a friendly face.

Shane had told the argumentative idiot to simmer down twice now because he just wasn't going to get a refund on a drink that his date wouldn't touch simply because she thought it quote-- 'tasted like ass'. Their policy didn't allow that, and soon enough one of the managers would be heading over to deal with the situation and more than likely throw his drunken ass out of the bar-- yet still he wouldn't quit mouthing off and just listen to her thanks to his booze addled brain refusing to process this. The dark haired bean sidhe stared at him open mouthed, her tawny eyes wide in disbelief at how he was acting. She was pretty accustomed to drunken stupidity from dealing with her father, but this guy really took the cake. Shrugging indifferently, she laughed coolly. "All right man, I'd like to see you try. But you're still not getting a refund. And if you don't chill the fuck out you're gonna get kicked out. Got it?" She gave the human a level look, placing her palm on the bar top and leaning towards him to try and stare him down-- it wasn't working. When Shane turned in exasperation to walk away and serve another customer, the asshole's hand shot out and grabbed her wrist in a vice like grip which caused the noirette to gasp-- this fucker had some strength-- and she could feel the tiny bones in her wrist painfully grind together as he tugged her forward and stuck his face in hers, his breath stinking of alcohol. Once again he demanded his money. "Let me the fuck go, or I'm going to break your goddamn face." Shane growled in an acidic tone, her voice deepening an octave as she ground out the words from between clenched teeth.

Something, Anything || Angel & Open

The Sacred Soul Hellhound was sitting on a stool inside the Vortex with her hands covering her face, groaning at the thought of having to go back to her place. The more time she spent there alone, the more likely she was to break something. Nobody else was going to be there of course, so all nights and days there were spent alone. She wouldn't normally mind but lately her mind had taken a toll on her body. It was like the burden of the thoughts weighing her down had physically affected her as well. Someone might say there was a science behind it, but Angel didn't know about it and didn't care. Pushing her hair out of her face, she looked up at the bartender "can I get another, and a plate of something to eat, anything." She shrugged, not being being picky.
