Hadleigh Creek, PA
Located in the northernmost reaches of Pennsylvania, on the shore of Lake Erie, Hadleigh Creek is an unincorporated community established on land belonging to the Reid family, a clan of former hunters whose history stretches back by dozens of generations.
Hadleigh Creek is divided into two parts:
The “official” community that appears on maps and exists as a cover for the Reid’s other operations, displaying a public front of being just another rural community providing amenities and accommodation to tourists traveling to and from the lake for fishing, and the state-owned hunting grounds further along the highway.
The Campgrounds, which sit deep within a heavily forested area inside the boundaries of a private game reserve owned and controlled by the Reid’s, and acts as a safe haven for nonhumans and defectors from other, more violent/unethical hunter clans, such as the Mahlendorf’s. The Campgrounds do not appear on any public maps and the forest provides cover from satellite imagery of the area.
The land surrounding the campgrounds is fenced in and there are trail cameras and other security measures around the perimeter to prevent hunters breaching the area.
All of the residents of the “public” part of Hadleigh Creek are also either members of the Reid family themselves, or trusted family friends. The Reid’s make a point of ensuring that all of those who live in Hadleigh are familiar with the various other hunter clans that are still actively engaged in the life, so if any hunters pass through the area, the Reid’s can ensure that the residents of the Campgrounds are kept safe from them until the threat passes.
