One day... One Pandemic... and One Announcement...

"Nationwide Lockdown"

The roads were empty, there was no one on the usually busy streets, there were no vehicles on the usually jammed roads by traffic. The people who were usually so busy with their work and had no time for themselves, let alone for the family, were now free with no work and all time for themselves.

They were free as they always wished for, they were on a break now.

But, this was not what they wished for.

This was not what they had ever dreamt of. This was not what "we" were prepared for. This was not what we wanted.

We all have always, at some point in time, wished for a break to go to a place quiet, serene, beautiful and far away from this busy world.

But, this was different.

There was panic and chaos all around. It was as if we were stuck in the middle of the sea on a deserted island with no way out.

We were on a break, not by choice but by the guidelines. This was not a gift rather a punishment.

The punishment of our own deeds.

This pandemic made our otherwise well-settled life upside down. It was like the nature was taking revenge.

All of us were forced to be at our homes and work non stop.

Many were forced to go out of their comfort zones to survive. The people were losing their homes, their work, their jobs, their positions.

They were losing their lives to this pandemic and to the loneliness caused by it.

Everything around was out of control, many didn't even had basic amenities to survive. There was no money, no food and no shelter.

This was the worst time one could see, there was no solution and it was an intangible enemy, we had to fight with, rather we are still fighting.

But, this Pandemic made us realise the importance of our time, our family, our work and the one and only life we have.

This life is precious and we should value it.

All this while, we had been taking our lives for granted. This pandemic has made us value our life. It has taught us that the time is precious and if, once gone cannot be earned again.

So, spend this time carefully because we have only one life.

The one life to live for ourselves, for the people we love and the ones who love us.

Writing The Life

Caged by the Balcony

A silhouette sits in the balcony,

With eyes wandering and lonely.

Her brooding eyes shaded with glass,

Her hair like freshly blown grass.

Her chin is rested on her palms,

Her lips contain unspoken qualms.

She seems to be lost in the world outside,

‘No, not really’, says an observing eye.

She looks so lost for she Has lost,

Her freedom, her voice that she valued most.

Her eyes are wet with unforgettable memories,

Of her and the happiness of being with her family.

Now she is caged, breathing fume,

Of fear and fever and impending doom.

She knows what or who is coming for her,

And if they do come,

She knows…

She must surrender.

For fate can be kind or cruel,

One can stay in denial or duel,

Fight for what one must keep,

Her soul or her family

And for that thought alone

She weeps.

Alone at night when no one can hear,

Her muffled sobs and frightful tears.

Lockdown 200

Well, I finally got to this, 200 days locked up at home, since March 13th.

How many things can be learned throughout this time, perhaps that's when I've noticed things the most, some are important, some just my nonsense, anyway, some of the things I learned are:

Pandemics don't change people.

Racism, ignorance, machismo and discrimination are the true diseases of humans, that must be changed NOW.

Football is no longer what it used to be.

All those tournaments and cups, they've become nothing but a monetary farce to make the rich richer.

Mou, you're not special anymore.

Toby Alderweireld I LOVE YOU.

G.A you are MY CUTIE LOVELY TEDDY BEAR.

Imagination and creativity became my two most powerful weapons.

I learned to take naps... I don't like them very much, but they're useful sometimes

Lean, whatever, but LEAN, that helps a lot to wake the mind.

Wear mask, no matter what happens, always wear a lay, use the HEAD, PUMBAA!!!

I was able to awaken my seventh sense.

Don't forget the essentials, there's always someone who supports you, family, friends... The one you love... There's always someone, don't give up.

It's not a lot of things, in fact there's more, but that's what I've learned

And one more thing, you've come this far in this crazy year, consider yourself happy to have survived so much, that's already an achievement, we're going to get out of this, a lot of encouragement, if you work, you may not give up, you're a pride for others and a great example.
