Patton honestly feels like he can sing. It’s not often that he’s allowed to leave the house, but when he does, it’s always an adventure. Today is especially amazing - birds are singing, the sun is shining, and there’s a sweet, soft breeze blowing past him. He’s so distracted by the beauty of the world that he completely forgets that the only reason he was allowed to walk down the walkway in front of Thomas’s house was to get the mail. He also doesn’t notice the girl walking past the house, knocking her to the ground and bouncing back a little himself. “Oh, darn! I’m so sorry!! I totally didn’t see you there, my bad!” Or…my DAD! Get it? Because you’re like a father figure?? Hahaha.... I crack myself up. He offers her his hand to pull her up, smiling apologetically. “Here, let me help you up!”

Fry whistles an old song as he walks down the street, heading to the Planet Express building. The whistling dies off as he notices a pretty girl standing outside the building, staring up at it. He quickly checks his breath and runs his fingers through his hair - not that he’ll hit on her, but he likes to make a good impression before he ultimately disappoints them. Tapping on her shoulder, he gives her a friendly smile.

“Hey, there. Can I help you? I-I work here, which is why I’m asking. I'm not just some weirdo who goes around helping strangers."

That sounds about right . My cousin , who is also Jewish , makes jokes and I’m just like ??? Why ??? We’re Jewish ??? You’re making jokes about our family and friends and others dying ?? Idk if she feels like it’s the only way not to get shunned by others or what but that shit makes me so uncomfortable .

honestly, i feel like humor ( especially the self deprecating kind ) has turned into our #1 defense mechanism and it’s not funny?? it’s just sad??
