The way this adaptation hit all the big lore and plot points but also made time for the tiniest details that spoke so much about the characters was honestly so great to see, the show creators obviously had so much understanding and respect for the original source material, which is so rare nowadays.

i’m so excited to be able to annotate as i read along this time. i have been MISSING lockwood and lucy banter, and i love how the book starts off with sillies from them

“Okay,” I said. “Remember our new rules. Don’t blab about everything you see. Don’t speculate openly about who killed who, how, or when. And, above all, don’t impersonate the client. Please. and like that’s just the beginning of their sillies like bro why is lockwood mentioning the mouse sized death glow he can see?? mans just trying to show off i can hear his big grin from here

but also like… do bugs have death glows? is it any living creature?? what’s the limits??? i have questions

I forgot that the book is set in autumn. Perfect mood for the cold snap we've had this week.

Lucy describing Lockwood's smile and the effect it has on her and the people around them makes me feral. Girl cannot mention his smile without comparing it to warmth, the sun, or her luminous watch!!!

Also, can we talk for a second how perfect Ruby and Cam played their parts regarding The Smile TM. Lockwood's blinding smile and Lucy softening despite herself?!?

Lockwood is such a larger than life character, it's easy to forget what an idiot he actually is. He is such a ridiculous teenage boy it's unreal...

I mean, he got locked in the loo?!?! How? What's is the story behind that? I need to know!!!

I love the image of Lockwood with his too big coat, constantly tripping or getting his rapier stuck in it, yet being too vain to actually don something sensible for a ghost hunt.

Just beautifully said. I remember noticing this description in my first read of the book.

Uhhh, the forshadowing. 👀👀👀 I wonder whether Stroud already had a concept for the origin of The Problem or whether that line was born from some personal issue with Kent
