So someone recently reblogged me loctopus and I remembered that I have this.... which I have had laying around for a long time and I wanna finish but effort so I’ll put the WIP here in hope that it will pressure me slowly into finishing XD

Octopuses are some of the most antisocial, unfriendly animals alive. 

Since mermay is here I decided to join in and finally finishing part of this sketch.  Now I just need to do Fishlix

Meet Fishlix and Loctopus

It's also worth noting that (I'm pretty sure- might have to double check my facts) specifically the Giant Pacific changes color based on emotions? It turns red when upset/angry, blue when excited, etc. I'm a fan of Actual 'red-faced' angry Loctopus.

That is honestly terrifying to think about as well as ridiculously funny, but to be honest I don’t think he can squish quite as easily through the way a real octopus could because of the fact that even as a mermaid he still has a human torso with all those human bones and ligaments and tissue that can’t squish and squeeze so freely like an octopus. I’d concede though that AS A LOCTOPUS and not a human, he’d be able to dislocate his bones without much pain and contort however he can or needs to to get through an obstacle, but only however much that human portion can physically squeeze through, since human bodies aren’t built like octopus bodies. So, less like an octopus and more like a cat i guess?

And to the anon, I am so on board with him chewing on his nails when he’s stressed and no one’s looking, fuck yes sign me the fuck up.

So checklist to myself: 

A Loctopus 1) chews his nails when he’s stressed, 2) can use active camouflage, and 3) can squeeze and contort himself through small spaces so long as his human top portion can physically squish through it
