So Line of Duty series 5 is FINALLY being broadcast in my country and HOLY MOTHER OF CLIFFHANGERS I’d forgotten what an agony it is to watch this show one episode per week.

Line of Duty - Season 5

With only two episodes to go, I’ve got some thoughts about Line of Duty. Obviously don’t read on if you haven’t seen season 5 yet.

1) I’m seriously worried that Kate’s going to revealed as bent. Everything seems so good for her; she’s got her husband, child, nice house, the promotion. Something has to go wrong for her or we find out she’s hiding something really dodgy. I’ll be honest though, if she turns out to be ‘H’, I’d fully throw my allegiance to her side! 

2) I don’t think Hastings is ‘H’. It’s been made too obvious. I do think he’s either done something unrelated to the OCG that’s not going to show him in the best light, or he’s working with Lisa, who’s secretly an AC12 officer.

3) I feel Kate and I have similar feelings towards Steve. We both seriously question all of his life choices (”Oh Jesus Christ, Steve”) but would protect him at any cost. My other major worry for this series is that Steve is going to die. But that’s a worry for every season. He does get him self in some pickles!

3) I’m not trusting Tatline. She literally came out of nowhere and is too good at her job. 

4) I think Hargreaves was bent, but not as much as being implied. I think there was a reason we never got to hear from him; I think he was set up or dragged in by someone else. i’m not trusting Sam at all. She’s all over Steve like a rash this season, when she didn’t want to know him before. Something’s up there.

Line of Duty... the weirdly wonderful theories

Well, it's over for another 2 years! I loved it personally. It resolved almost nothing and set us nicely for S6.

A few theories I've come across A LOT and my responses.

1) Is *insert canonically dead character here* still alive?

No! It's Line of Duty not The Walking Dead or Supernatural. 🤦‍♀️

2) wouldn't it be cool if they did a Body Guard / Line of Duty mash up.

Eh? Not the same 'verse - ie how do you explain Keeley Hawes and Gina McKee being alive again as different people? 🤦‍♀️

3)Kate is the top of the corruption tree because she's had an out of the blue promotion and lives in a nice house. I mean...🤦‍♀️

The promotion happened sometime in the last 2 years. Steve was probably on a long period of sick leave when it happened.

Shes living in a 2 income HH, no where near London. The house was what you'd expect.

4) Steve is the top of the corruption tree.

WtF! You leave that sweet cinnamon roll alone!

5) Lisa's McQueen.

A) she's Roz Huntley's having been released from prison with a new face. 🤦‍♀️and is part gecko as she grew back a limb?!

B) shes Roz's daughter.

she's too old to be the 2 shown on screen.

C) shes the daughter of Gates and Laverty from their affair.

This is plausible. If she was adopted and McQueen is her adopted name.

6) John Corbett was Hastings' son with Anne-Marie.

No! It was mentioned on screen and confirmed by Mercurio.

7) I keep calling Gill Bigelow Bill Gigolo.

Me too.

8) Are you just a tad obsessed?

Yes. I'm not ashamed. 😂😂

I'm sure there are more wild theories out there but these make me chuckle.
