PERHAPS THERE ARE THINGS in life that are meant to be all-encompassing yet brief, like a goodbye hug from someone you only just met. something strong and curt like bursts of morning light, fleeting fireworks. this, is how maximus experienced one of his most feverish lovers, in passing, a motion blur of certain uncertainties. he’s looking for a distraction today, yes, and music was one of the most effective kinds of distractions. he recalls an album playing amidst a block party in the late 80′s, & back then it was very word of mouth, so finding a song was often like locating a lost dog.
if invisible touch by genesis was a dog, ANDERSON RECORDS was the pound.
it doesn’t take him long to grow impatient (a few paces and glances to be exact) and thus begins the hunt for an employee. the front desk always seemed promising, and elton john’s tiny dancer filling the atmosphere served as a faint yet strong encouragement. he begins speaking like dipping a toe into a cold pool, “..excuse me, sorry for the bother — would you help me find an album? my senses are failing me today, i think.” just a touch of humanity always helped one’s image, he found.
