hi! quick question: what kind of things would people be doing for the secret valentine stuff? like would we be submitting things anonymously to the people? or is it nice messages in the ask? i just was wondering before i sign up haha. thanks!
Hey! I hope you don’t mind me posting this on the main — it’s a good question and I think this answer can help every participant! Please take a moment to read through this post, as it contains important information for the Secret Valentine event. Members who would like inspiration, or to know more precisely what you can do during the Secret Valentine event, should definitely look this way as well.Seeing as members can’t really… acquire presents for each other in the strictest sense — which is the custom thing to do as a Secret Santa — we thought we could incorporate the sheer niceness of the game, and in relation to Valentine’s Day, spread a little love! (For those of you who have missed it — here is the informational post, and here is the post to like for participation. Do note that the dates are mostly approximate.)
Which would mean doing things such as send nice messages (compliments, funny prompts, plot messages, anything) either directly to the player, or anonymously (if they have anon turned on, which is not mandatory for this event) through their ask/submit, or in the form of a confession to the confession blog. The goal is to not make it too obvious that you’re their Valentine, but, seeing as it’s harder to accomplish on Tumblr for various reasons, you shouldn’t put too much pressure on that and accidentally end up not fulfilling your part because you’re worried you’ll be discovered.
In fact, if it makes the event more comfortable or enjoyable for you, you can go ahead and reveal yourself before Valentine’s Day.
But, you can do so much more than just sending nice messages! You can make graphics, write poems or songs or short texts about either the member you were assigned, or any of their characters. This may be submitted to the Confession blog, and always posted anonymously.
Basically, you should let your imagination run wild. Please try to like the participation post before somewhere around 4pm EST/9pm GMT tomorrow (6 Feb), if you haven’t done so already.
