...Oh, who was he kidding? It would've shocked passersby back at home too. He just didn't think that he'd be running into any faces that didn't have fishtails, scales, and a set of gills in an ocean this big. But lo and behold, it turned out the big blue wasn't as big as he had guessed.
Aboard the kid genius's very own Sea Fox had he been making his way, a self-made and personal submarine primed for diving expeditions and long-distance travels through any large body of water. It had been working like a charm getting him from place to place in this vast new world, but... if the pinched and perplexed face the fox wore during conversation had anything to say, it would be the very same words written right across his forehead: 'Downright stumped'.
By the other's mode of seaworthy transportation would the fox still his sub, an arm resting on the ridge as fingers couldn't help but fold together and tense.
"As nice as these oceans are, I can't say I'm exploring them for my health. Y'see, I, uh... well..." How to put it in a way that doesn't make him sound like a complete and utter buffoon... A tongue clicks and lips purse. "It would seem that, in a completely unforeseeable malfunction with a piece of technology made with the purpose of extending and further developing the span and scope of cross-world travel, an invaluable piece of otherworldly power was randomly and most suddenly displaced in the process."

He made a teleporter that broke and zapped something important to lands completely foreign to him.
"But to put it simply, I'm looking for something and it isn't quite going so well. And it's, like, really, REALLY important that I get it back before I go home. So... uhm... Are you, like... local? Around here? You wouldn't happen to know any treasure hunters who enjoy charity work, would you?"
