Crappy Mild Analogical Fic
Based on @residentanchors superpowers AU, it’s a non-canon one shot, so don’t go thinking it is. Based a few months after the last chapter.
Virgil wandered aimlessly down the concrete path of the park, his large headphones over his ears blasting his totally PG-13 music almost directly into his brain. He closed his eyes and shoved his hands further into his pockets and took a deep breath. His therapist, Dr Picani, had recommended nature walks when his anxiety peaked, and boy did they work wonders. Coping methods never normally worked for Virgil, ASMR creeped him out, meditation was a fruitless effort as he couldn’t sit still for more than a few minutes, and pills just made him more emotional. Given all of this, Virgil never expected something this simple to calm him down, and with a small smile settling on his lips, he resumed his walk.
With the intent of putting on an audiobook, Virgil temporarily diverted his vision to his phone to change the music. Not wanting to stop walking, he continued down the path. Moments later, he crashed into something solid and slumped down on the floor, yelling a few curses as his behind made contact with the floor. An embarrassed flush rose to his cheeks as he stood up, shaking himself off and profusely apologising to the stranger, not even making eye contact with them out of shame.
“I’m so sorry, I should have been looking where I was going, that was completely my fault, sorry!” He rambled with such speed that the individual words were difficult to make out.
The stranger didn’t reply, and Virgil’s eyes were fixated on the floor. He didn’t dare to look at the person as he could practically feel their stares shooting daggers into his skull. Maybe he should pretend to collapse. Yeah, that sounded good. Not having to face this person sounded fantastic.
Virgil heard the stranger sigh with a light chuckle. “Why is it that faking your own death is the first and only option for you, Virgil?” Called an oddly familiar voice. The emo boys brow furrowed in confusion as he tried to deduce where he knew it from, and then widened in surprise as he realised two things at exactly the same time. One, the ‘stranger’ knew his name. Two, he knew what Virgil was thinking. Who did that remind him of?
Virgil almost fell over when the realisation hit him.
“L-Logan?!” Virgil stuttered, his head snapping up in surprise, his brown eye locking with Logan’s gently glowing ones. Rapid blinks dulled the glow of his hazel iris’, as he adjusted his tie and glasses. It had been a few months since he had last seen Logan, only occasionally having a light text conversation but nothing more than that.
“My apologies for that unauthorised intrusion. I was making sure you were not in a state of panic before communicating.” Logan said in his sweet, nerdy, special way. A way that only he could make sound sexy, Virgil thought, before mentally slapping himself. What was he thinking about? He lightly shook his head before replying.
“It’s alright, I guess. No harm done.” He nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders and tugged the corner of his mouth into a smile. “It’s been a while. Found a place for us all yet?” He inquired. The other three had tasked Logan with finding a new place, as they were either too busy with work or didn’t understand real estate.
“I have come close several times, but each location had a flaw that would make it less appealing to the others. Would you perhaps like to discuss matters over a hot beverage?” He looked down at the slightly shorter man and smiled.
“Yeah... Sure...” Virgil trailed off. He would like that very much.
So I might do a part 2. There’s a dialogue prompt I really wanna use.
