Logitech G513 Carbon Review
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“A MATERIAL ADVANTAGE
Next-Gen Performance, Advanced Design
G513 is a high performance gaming keyboard, delivering 1 ms report rate and featuring choice of advanced Romer-G Tactile. Romer-G Linear or GX Blue mechanical switch. Full-spectrum RGB combined with LIGHTSYNC technology takes the lighting experience with your games to a whole new level. Aluminum alloy enables a bladelike chassis with a beautiful brushed metal finish”
I’ve always loved my mechanical keyboards. This being my first cherry blue I was a bit sceptical as the actuation on the keys are a bit longer than my cherry browns. But not to worry if you prefer faster keys the G513 is available with romer G keys which is a lot faster. It took me a couple of minutes to get use to the keys but now I am absolutely in love and to me it just makes sense. It makes me feel in control. No more accidental key presses by just gliding over the keys. And the clickiness…. Oh yes it’s super clickey.
The build quality of the keyboard is superb. The aluminium feels durable and has no flex whatsoever. This is a compact keyboard which makes it perfect if you have a smaller desk. The keys are solid with very little play on them. You also get some replaceable keys which are indented for quick key finding. (1 to 5 and QWER ASD). The removal tool you get with the keyboard also makes replacing them a breeze and it makes cleaning the keyboard easy. In the box you will also find a memory foam palm rest. This is surprisingly comfortable as it gives your palms that slight raise which helps with finger fatigue (well for me it does at least)
The keyboard performs as a mechanical should in games and it recognises all keys pressed immediately so you don’t get that key canceling or not reading when spamming multiple keys (especially helpful in RPG’s). The including palm rest helps a lot for those long gaming sessions as it is just so comfortable. The keyboard is not just suitable for gaming. I found typing on this keyboard also to be very quick as the key spacings are perfect and your fingers quickly learn just how hard to press. I am not the world’s fastest typer but this keyboard worked for me
A nice 1.8m braided cable powers this little monster keyboard. The cable is not overly thick and has a lot of flex to easily route the cable for your needs. There are 2 USB ports to plug in. the one to power the keyboard and the other for the USB passthrough. This I must say is one of the gripes I have with this keyboard, the passthrough is only USB 2.0. WHY? The keyboard does not have dedicated media keys it shares with the F keys. This might be a problem for some but its really not the end of the world.
The lighting of the keyboard is fully customizable through the logitech gaming software. The setup is very user friendly and you can change it to suit your liking or to match up with the RGB of your pc. The software also allows you to set up different profiles for different games. In the software you can also change your function Keys around so you can use them as your dedicated media keys and only use the FN key for the odd occasion you need to use F9 to F10
Overall I found this keyboard amazing. I love the clickiness of the Cherry blues. The keys are just the right size and you never miss a beat. There is adequate rubber on the bottom to prevent the keyboard from slipping. The flip out raised feet puts the keyboard at a perfect angle. The keyboard is extremely well built and will last you a good couple of years. The customization is endless. Hats off to Logitech on a superb keyboard[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”31217,31215,31219,31214,31216,31220,31218,31210,31211,31212,31213″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
