Life hasn't been easy, but Genos overall likes his transformation. Imagine a meek teenager who witnessed the destruction of his hometown and family and being powerless to stop it. Genos had all that anger and a desire to right the wrongs of this world and if he was merely alive he would be out of control in no time. He's not emotionless: being a cyborg allows him to focus his emotions and hone in on specific goals. Suddenly, his thoughts are organized and his purpose is clear. Becoming a cyborg has stabilized him.
Not much is known about Genos' childhood prior to becoming a cyborg at age 15. He lived a pretty happy and peaceful life with his family before they were killed. I think Genos was raised in an average household and had average 15-year-old hobbies when he was still human. He'd play basketball with his friends, have several game consoles, and do just above-average in school. He described himself as "meek", so he's likely to be pretty introverted, but he was never bullied nor was he socially inept.
// why would these two even need Jaegers it’s me i just want to shove everybody into Jaegers sorry i’m not sorry
Jaeger Name: Arachnid WolframPilots: Peter Parker (aka. Spider-Man) and Genos
The typical procedure is that the pilots for a Jaeger would be chosen from a list of qualified PPDC rangers, that is not the case with this Jaeger. Arachnid Wolfram was designed and customized specifically based on Peter and Genos’ drift compatibility. Extremely hard to maneuver, it requires the dexterity of Spiderman and the computing power of someone already a machine.
Each hand of Arachnid Wolfram is equipped with a heat cannon to match Genos’, and fights mostly in MMA-style. It’s smaller than most Jaegers of this mark to easily facilitate it’s ability to climb—controlled greatly by Peter Parker’s conn-pod. Arachnid Wolfram has a greater number sensitivity nodes between the Jaeger and the Conn-Pods, making it extremely agile and dextrous when provided with the right copilots (that is, the ones with the right neural capacity as well as the neural handshake).
The design has always been such that only Peter Parker’s Conn-Pod is equipped with an escape hatch.
As for the pilots themselves, Genos does not carry much into the drift and is easily accommodating in the neural handshake. Peter’s easygoing and good nature keeps him from breaking the connection.
As one can expect of a cyborg, Genos is usually calm, serious, and expressionless.
␛ for ANGER headcanon:
Genos is actually pretty quick to anger, especially in battle. When he sees someone threatening the lives of innocents or if someone insults his sensei, Genos is easily ticked off. Even more, he’s the type that can only resolve these things with violence. Genos makes it known when he’s angry, though pure seething rage is never his style.
✿ for HAPPINESS headcanon
He's pleased with himself when he has accomplished a heroic goal, or when he's especially proud of someone else for being heroic. Genos rarely smiles and has not been seen laughing. Who knows if he's even physically capable of that.
