Any thoughts on being culturally Catholic and having the fear to jump to worshiping Loki? Like, I’ve always been a religious relativist but I don’t extend that to myself. Maybe some ideas for baby beginning steps to start?
I wasn't raised Catholic, and though I do come from a Christian background, I know that certain aspects of Catholicism can make it difficult to transition to another spiritual/religious mindset.
I would first know that you're not alone, many of us come from Christian/Catholic backgrounds! We've answered a lot of asks from folks with similar questions, so I'd take a look and see if you can find some sentiments similar to what you're feeling, and maybe find some comfort in the discussions we've had with others!
I'm also hoping folks with Catholic backgrounds and similar experience might chime into this and share what helped them.
That being said, I would just start by understanding that your comfort level is A-okay. Your best IS okay here. You're not going to offend Loki if you don't stick to a schedule, you're not going to offend him if you're back-and-forth about if this is something you want to do, or if you're irregular about prayer, if you don't pray at all, if you don't have a showy altar, etc. He's pretty difficult to offend in my experience, as long as you're being nice and trying your best! I'm also very sure that he understands that this can be a bit of a scary transition.

If you're just getting started, I would start by doing something you ARE comfortable with. Baby step ideas would be....a conversation (doesn't have to be prayer-style, can literally just be...writing a letter? speaking out loud?). Lighting a candle in his honor for as long as you're comfortable with. Hell, you could even just think "SEND ME A SIGN IF YOU'RE COOL WITH ME" in his general direction. It's so up to you! Your first step does not have to be anything formal, grand, or showy.
Lastly, just know that your relationship with him doesn't have to mimic any relationship you've ever had with a god or higher power before. You get to choose what you're comfortable with here, you get to set boundaries!
