I’ve been tagged by unemployed-asgardian-barber! These are awesome questions so I’m really excited to be answering them!
Rule 2: Answer the questions set by the tagger, then write 11 new ones
Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post
Rule 4: Let them know they’ve been tagged
1. If you could have any song have been written about/for you, what song would it be and why?
I really like “Duet With Myself” by Charlie McDonnell. I love how he acknowledges his insecurities but still loves himself in spite of them. It’s a great message conveyed in a wonderfully simple song. x
2. If you could change the ending of any book/movie (or both) what would you change?
The Merlin ending! I actually wrote a rant about this somewhere else: x
I would also change the endings of Fox and the Hound and Grease because the messages they send infuriate me to no end.
3. If you could inherit fictional superpowers/magical ability/etc. from any character in all forms of media whose would you inherit and what would you do with it?
I want Merlin’s powers! He’s the greatest warlock ever (bonus:he doesn’t need a wand!) and he’s a dragonlord to boot. What’s not to love?
I’m not sure what I would do with it. I would probably use it as Merlin does—trying to help where I can but also playing ridiculous pranks on my friends and family. I might bungle my attempts, though, out of sheer absent-mindedness.
…Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t have superpowers.
4. You are given the chance to become friends with your favourite actress/actor except there’s a catch - if you become friends with them they have to give up their acting career. Would you still do it? (and who is it?)
My favorite actor at this point in time is Colin Morgan and if this was the consequence, then I would stay FAR away from him. Obviously I don’t know him, but from what I can gather, Colin breathes acting. I don’t think he’s stopped to take a break since he started acting in drama school, and he positively thrives on it. That passion is ridiculously endearing and is a major part of why I adore him. I would never be able to live with myself guilt-free if he had to give it up.
5. Pick a family member (sibling if you have one) - do you think you’d be friends with them if you weren’t related?
I think about this a lot, actually. My brother is two years younger than me, so we’re pretty close, but I’m not sure we would be if we weren’t related. I think at best we would be casual friends because our personalities are so different. He’s extroverted and very clever, but can sometimes be insensitive and rigid in his viewpoints. I’m much more introverted and hypersensitive and take some things too personally but can be equally stubborn. So you can see where the clashes arise.
That said, I’m really glad he is my brother, because despite our sometimes arguments, I am forced to take his viewpoints into consideration and I have been exposed to ideas and hobbies that I would not be drawn to of my own accord, and vice versa. We are good for each others’ growth as individuals.
6. If you could choose to be naturally talented at something what would it be? Art? Music? Acting? Science? Math?
I really wish I was a naturally talented creative writer! I have always enjoyed and done well in my English classes, but I typically write essays that analyze other books, and as a result, I haven’t written as many stories as I would like. I have an odd perfectionistic tendency that makes me terrified to even start writing a new story, because I’m afraid it won’t turn out the way I envisioned it. However, I’m trying to work on that fear, so hopefully I’ll learn to live with that tendency and improve.
7. If you could only ever eat one but not for the other for the rest of time, which would you choose: apples or oranges?
Oranges. I love that they are sweet and sour at the same time. Plus, I just really like the word "tangy".
8. What animal would you choose to become if you were a shapeshifter?
I think I would be a bird that could swim and fly. That way I could get wherever I needed to go quickly and efficiently until someone figures out how to apparate.
I’m not sure which bird, though. Duck? Goose? Swan?
Perhaps a loon would be most fitting.
9. The deserted island question. You’re stuck for eternity with only one of each of the following, what/who are they? Book, movie, CD, person.
I would choose the Harry Potter series as my books, the LoTR trilogy as my movies, and a CD of classical hits from around the world. Merlin would be my person. Maybe he could use his magic to get us out of eternity? I might want to keep him to myself for a while first though. ^^
10. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
I’m actually pretty happy living where I am right now, but I would definitely like to travel more! I’d like to see more of Europe, South America, SE and East Asia, and Oceania, and revisit the UK/Ireland. I’d also like to see more of India because my family always visits the same area (my extended family lives in one region so we don’t really travel a lot while we’re there).
11. If you could change one trivial thing about yourself or your life, what would it be? (and by trivial I mean your height or the city you live in, don’t go getting greedy and fictionally winning the lottery on me, ok?)
I would make myself less clumsy. It’s adorable in fiction…not so much in real life. Too many bruises.
