"You were trying to get my brother's knife, hm?" Loki smirks as he wanders along the precarious tracking, spotting Ariadne as she climbs into an offshoot passageway. It doesn't matter to him that it's been a few weeks since the newly named girl tried to steal from Egil. The thought makes him laugh, but the attempt also showed her promise. One of the main arguments Loki continues to make in favor of keeping her with them. Although, it is not one of the reasons why he wants her to stay.

"I can take you somewhere." he comes to a stop along the tracks, eyesight adjusting to the limited lighting as he glances up to the passageway she sits in. A sliver of light casts a small shine over her features and hair and the sight of it turns his smirk into a grin "I know a way to get your own." Loki nods to the vast dark of the tunnel. "It is dangerous, so you have to be quiet." he glances back to her, half etching into the shadows as he predicts her answer will be yes. But, Loki is a gentleman, obviously. His hand extends to help her down from the passageway, a softer expression sweeping over his features. "If you can do that."

"Esje." Loki's whisper travels through the first cabin he reaches, but there's no stirring of feet that he recognizes in response. The only reply he gets is a grumble of annoyance, perhaps from a sleeping Torben, which prompts a snicker from Loki that makes him flop to the cabin wall. "Er Esje her??" he whispers again, straightening himself and knocking his leg into the table which then scrapes across the floor. "Shit." It's taken a lot of watered down beer to make his head a little buzzy, Vidar constantly gathering more and more drinks. Even when the vampire declared no more, the Jansen brothers decided to help themselves. Now the passage of time doesn't even feel real, Loki unaware that it's late into the next day from when he first reached the bar.

And from this fuzzy head, many thoughts of Esje found their way through to him. Many thoughts about things he could have done differently and many things he wishes to say to her. There she is! The sight of her makes a small gasp emit from Loki, from both surprise and awe. "Du er våken. Flink." he whispers, pulling the table back to where it's supposed to be in another loud noise of scraping wood. "Håret ditt ser alltid ut som det gløder i måneskinnet." he comments, because it isn't unheard of for a Jansen to be soft with adoration. See the way Skoll chased for Nanna's affections. And Vidar convincing himself of Adrie's. For Loki, it's a little more unusual but he still speaks with confidence despite the small slur to his words. He smiles to her, before his eyes flick downwards and notice the strange clothes she's wearing and his laughter rises. "Hva er dette?" he gestures, a hand coming to her shoulder to feel the...fur? No, that's not right. "Har de gitt deg falsk pels?" he snickers, almost forgetting entirely what he needs to say. Of course, Loki remembers quickly and gasps again, taking her hand. "Kan det holde deg varm? Jeg må snakke med deg."

Is it jealousy or bitterness? Both come easily to Loki but now, he finds it difficult to discern which emotion sours him. For a year he guided Esje through the intricacies of combat but in turn he learned a sense of purpose. An awakening of motivation and responsibility previously foreign to him. Now, he battles with an odd sense of loss as Cas demanded her to only be trusted with Roan's teachings. But, defiance is just one of the many bonds Loki shares with Esje and he finds relief from the continuation of their training. He is happy to admit that he witnesses the fire of improvement flickering within Esje's eyes. Even if her approach to combat now carries more of a strategic flow. A far cry from the crazed and chaotic violence that he grew within. "You are tired." his voice is a contrast gentle after the harsh clash of their blades. And, it's far too easy for Loki to disarm Esje with a flick of his wrist, the sword rattling to the ground in a metallic clang.

His head tilts subtly, not in challenge or smugness. Her days are stretched thin between Roan's teachings and their own sessions, so Loki's statement isn't with disappointment but with concern. Acutely aware of how defensive she is to any hinted criticism, Loki's gaze stays soft. "It is hard to fight with anger if you are tired, Esje. Maybe we should try earlier sessions before you go to him." but there comes the faint bitterness, or jealousy, punctuating the end of his words. "In time you will learn how to power through weariness but that is not today. You have done enough, love." he glides his blade away and quickly reaches for hers between them, offering it to her. "You are obviously learning well from Roan. And with the bow and arrow too? Astrid? She is good with it, you will be a well-rounded fighter before we know it."

@waterfallswords loki, thorin and egil - the woods, jan 22nd

Well, there's no bear. Nor is there a powerful blond wolf, said to be sent by the Gods to command the beast. Loki finds himself questioning why he listened to Thorin's lavish tales, following into the woods with Egil at his side and eager to witness the promised vision. In a huff of disappointment, the two younger wolves spontaneously embark on an impromptu training session. The clash of metal resounds through the frost-kissed air. But, a realization dawns quickly on Loki. The exchange of hits suddenly reminds him of the abrupt punches Egil landed on him when they reunited.

Gradually, what begins as a training session swiftly evolves into confrontation, Loki sensing as Egil's anger simmers with each passing moment. The transition from practice to genuine strife blurs the line between brotherly sparring and raw animosity. Thorin, seemingly oblivious to the shifting dynamics, as it's impossible to tell the difference between the brutality. But, Loki knows. He can feel it. It doesn't help that he continues to laugh during the clash of blades or as he grapples with Egil.

And in the struggle, his brother's blade now finds it's way through his flesh. Slicing open skin across his forearm with such a precise movement that Loki yells out in anger and revelation, throwing Egil boisterously from him. "I knew it!" he proclaims, his laughter now laced with his own frustration. "You are angry at me." he accuses his brother in surprise and amusement. "What have I done now? The least you could do is enlighten me, Egil!" he studies his already healing wound, flicking his arm as if it will ease the pain while his other hand twirls his blade and he lunges towards his brother in a manic rush. "You were angry when we met, weren't you?" Loki's voice lifts into a shout, an attempt to strike the blade in retaliation. "You sneaky bastard!"

The moment Loki senses the deliberate and heavy footsteps drawing near the cabin, his face dips into the cup he's sipping from, concealing the smirk that stretches across his features. There's a distinct rhythm to the way every Grimm wolf moves, a stomp that even Esje embodies whenever she's annoyed with him. And, unless Adrie has somehow transformed into a colossal oaf since their last encounter, or Esje magically appeared from the bedroom to the outskirts of the cabin, there remains only one other Grimm whose footsteps echo through the air.

Loki's amusement morphs into a suppressed snicker, the sound muffled within the cup as Cas strides into the cabin. Then, it evolves into a malevolent roll of laughter, escaping Loki's lips before he can even utter a word. "Hun er der inne," Loki manages to articulate with a lazy gesture to the bedroom, his voice barely audible but filled with mischievous delight. And he can't help himself, more words slip through the cackle with far too much ease. "Hun tar på seg klærne."

"Tilsynelatende er den kloke broren her oppe et sted." Loki chimes as he climbs the stairs in the building, a grin already on his face before his eyes even meet the sight of Skoll. Laughter strikes and Loki's arms extend wide when he rushes towards his brother, a giddiness that has stuck to him for the entirety of this day as he finds them one by one. "Jeg hørte at du hadde alle de andre og ledet dem over hele verden." he says in both pride and awe, because not many people would say a Jansen is a leader. Skoll has always been a little different though, five younger brothers at his heels and going wherever he went. "Thorin ledet også ulver. Kanskje er dagen kommet for oss til å innse at vi tilbyr mye mer enn å slåss." Loki only speculates this in jest, a coarse laughter following when he embraces his older brother tightly. Keen and fond and mournful slaps to Skoll's back follow, a squeeze because he is always been something of a father. "Jeg savnet deg. Jeg kan ikke tro at du forlot meg og Thorin." he adds with a playful smirk once he pulls away, inspecting his brother's features in a mock frown. "Å, du har blitt gammel."

He found Egil, he found Hati. Now he needs to find Vidar and Skoll, and Loki predicts that the town's strange tavern might be the next best place to search. He passes by with a peer through the window first, and immediately he sees Vidar. The two Jansen brothers catching each other's gaze within the same moment and Loki points, a surprised but a manic laughter spilling from him loudly. "Ha ha! Det er deg! Jeg visste at jeg ville finne deg her!" he shouts through the glass, disturbing almost every other person's calming moment with their drink. He hits against the window then, almost enough for it to splinter, coarse laughter emitting from him when he rushes towards the door so he can burst into the bar and towards his brother, empty tables and chairs upturned in the process. "Kan du tro det!? Alle seks av oss dro. Til og med Skolls gamle bein!"

Hours earlier, Loki snatched maps with a sly hand. Careful not to draw attention to himself while impulsiveness controlled his every movement. Then he studied the strange symbols and lines that mark this peculiar world, slowly making sense of them. It was a challenge in itself. But his real challenge is the stubborn horse Esje selected. For the entirety of their journey, or escape, it has resisted every single kick of his feet or move of the reigns.

But there comes a moment of peace during the journey. The horse insisted for a slower pace and Loki obliged after he sensed the change in Esje's heartbeat, radiating through her back to his chest. He let her sleep, an arm around her to stop her slipping from the saddle. It's the only time the horse has been agreeable, until nothing but a loose stone in the path rolls near it's hooves and makes the animal bolt in a loud snort. Then it's spooked into a gallop, Loki exclaiming with the sudden jerk as he tries to get the animal under control to no avail. "Shit!" Loki flails, needing both hands for the reigns but he laughs out as he has to keep Esje to him. "Er du våken!? Vi kan komme dit raskere nå!" he cackles, as now his adrenaline spikes. "I told you it does not like me!"
