Episode 17: Charlemagne
———
P - Over the Royal Road: Charlemagne has a “coolness meter” as his resource. Dealing damage increases the meter, while taking damage lowers it. Basic attacks grant 5 COOL on-hit. Loses 10 COOL when hit by an enemy champion’s attack, and 15 when hit by an ability. Charlie gains 1 physical damage on-hit per “COOL”. Maximum 200 COOL. Lose all COOL on death.
Q - Paladin’s Armament: Charlie switches his weapon to that of another Paladin. Wind Halberd with increased attack speed and range, Durendal that always crits, Ice Blade with a slow effect, Earth Mace that deals heavy damage in an aoe, and Argalia that ignores 30% armour. Switch lasts for 4 seconds. Additionally, Charlie gains 10-60 base AD(based on level) until the end of his first attack per switch. After each cast, the next weapon will be queued up in order. Queue is not reset upon death. 8-4s cd, additionally reduced by attack speed.
W - Mana Burst (Light): Charlie’s basic attacks grant him stacking movement speed and attack speed, stacking up to 3 times. When fully stacked, Charlie’s on-hit effects can critically strike for 200% damage, with a base 50% chance.
E - Holy Knight Emperor: Charlie becomes invulnerable for 1 second, cannot lose COOL, and any damage he would have taken is recorded. For every attack he takes while active, gain 10 COOL, and for every ability gain 15 COOL. Then Charlie and his allies gain 5% + 15% COOL damage amp and 10 + 10% COOL damage reduction for 4 seconds. 30s CD
R - Joyeuse Ordre: When Charlie has at least 100 COOL, he can cast this ability. Charlie fires up to 13 projectiles in a line in a target direction, increasing in width with number of projectiles. Fires 3 projectiles, plus 1 per 10 COOL exceeding 100. When hit by multiple projectiles, enemies only take the base damage once, but each individual projectile applies on-hit effects separately. Base damage can Crit.
(I’ve had this picture in my phone for like 5 years if someone could tell me the artist that would be super cool)
Anyways uhm, yes it’s intentional that if you do E then W while Wind Halberd is active then attack 3 times to stack it, you can instant swap to Durandal, gain a ton of base AD, then immediate ult, with ult getting that increased base AD, alongside having all of its on-hits crit due to durandal + W.
That full combo should one shot basically anything in the game if you have enough COOL. Intentional game design. It’s a nightmare to keep COOL high though so it’s probably a pain to pull off this combo given he has basically no sustain or survivability in his kit. He’s melee aphelios, so I gave him infinite damage. Also he’s my king so.
