Firstly the girl was confused as to how the seagull had even gotten to the sea of death, let alone in such condition in front of the palace gates. Secondly, she was surprised one of the denizens hadn't eaten her yet. Mikotsu looked left, and then right. The coast was clear. She could bring the seagull into the palace without being seen.

She hefted the girl onto her shoulder, dragging the taller seagull into her palace, through the halls, and into her chambers. It's a good thing she was a seagull or this would be difficult even for her. Thank the sea god for hollow bird bones. Once in her chambers, the princess gathered up her bandages and medicines before getting to work, preforming some impromptu first aid on the girl. She did all she could, and the injuries didn't appear fatal so now all she could do was wait.

Waiting was boring.
