I'm in no way trying to disagree with you but doesn't it count for anything that those characters are played by actual gay people, and people with down syndrome? The race thing I have nothing for that is just exclusion.

the fact that gay people are playing gay people and a disabled actress is in a starring role is a big step yes, but it's somewhat invalidating when the disabled actress's character is continually mocked for her disability and the gay characters are a) stereotypical b) subjected to horrible torture/death or c) both
