It's cold and rainy today here in New York City and I decided the best way to counter that is to have a startorial umbrella that makes me look forward to using it. With some creative googling, I was able to find a small selection of options, but not nearly enough in my opinion. Someone needs to fill the whole in this market!
Clockwise from top left:
Green galaxy umbrella from Umbrellar on Etsy ($38.50). Possibly based on a real image, but not one any astronomers I know recognize...
Lace, polka dot, star umbrella from Lollipopninja on Etsy ($20.00).
Transparent star print dome umbrella from Universal Textiles (8.95 GBP).
Trio of spacey umbrellas ranging from moonrise to constellations to aurora on Ebay ($14.99 each).
Pasotti Ombrelli Black and Stars umbrella from Pianki.com ($290.00). Complete with Swarovski crystals for the big spenders among you!
Grand Central Station constellation ceiling umbrella from MTA's Transit Museum Store ($30.00).
Given the annual winter meeting of the American Astronomical Society is in Seattle this year, I should probably just go ahead and buy one of each.
